The only car that would compete against the GT350R is the Stingray Grand Sport. Both are NA, track focused and same price range.

That GT500 tho.....
Imagine a world where the C7 grandsport has the 5.2L instead of a truck motor with a drysump.

Can't rule out that if the next GT500 does indeed go twin-turbo..... it may be an Ecoboost V6 TT in there??

Think of all the Ford GT buyers who shelled out half a million bucks yet their halo car has snails but w/ a V6 while the 500 has the snail'd V8 plus over 700hp??

Food for thought....

But of course we do want a monster V8TT in that GT500! Ignore me... :D
IVe been sayingreat this for a while now. I'm willing to bet it will be the ecoboost v6 from the gt, or similar to it.why would ford build a heavier v8 when they can get the same power from the v6, and be lighter and more efficient. Guess we'll have to wait and see

A grand sport with an ls7 would have been sick. But the voodoo in the grand sport would just be too perfect...we can always dream

The GT needed a light fuel efficient motor.
The GT 500 isn't all carbon fiber or aluminum it needs power. In order to stomp this ZL1 out of existence, it should put 70 to 80 HP on top of their numbers.
I doubt ford would put 720+ HP out of the v6 but anythings possible.
If i got the GT with the V6 it would bother me Zero if the GT 500 got a v8 and mega HP. They are different cars. If the GT 500 weighed 2900 lbs and had a 700hp v8 then i might start getting a little upset, but thats not the case. GT isnt made for the drag strip.

Didn't the Z51 Stingray pretty much slay the GT350 (non R) on a road course for C&D? 1.3 seconds per lap at Big Willow with 20mm more narrow tires than the GT350. They said the GT350 was a better car, but talking lap times, a Grand Sport would wreck a GT350 or GT350R

GT350 had glazed brakes I might add. Not making excuses I happen to like both vehicles a great deal. Tires are more narrow, but the rims and tires are also a hell of a lot less weight than the 31 pound trucksters on the non R.

I know most people on this forum are die hard Ford fans, but any thoughts on the new ZL1 coming out this year? It was just announced yesterday that the ZL1 will have 650HP and should be a monster. I'm curious if all the rumors are true about the Zl1, if it will reduce the demand for the GT350R and just maybe the ADMs will go away or reduced????? People always want the latest fastest toy.
JLT CAI
FP Throttle body
Injector upgrade
Lund E85 tune
ARH Long tubes
Possibly Borla / ARH mufflers

Can we get a GT350 to 600-625 crank hp, That's 530 at the wheels. Voodoo is getting closer.

Personally... I don't care how much faster a Camaro is. It looks like dog shi* and I wouldn't be caught driving those hot wheels cars.

and try running that SC motor to 8250............

Low end will still be low end, but weight and gear would decide most straights, lets see how much of that 650 it can put down when not in a straight line. I expect they spent a-lot of time dialing up the nannies like the z06 to keep it composed. Chevy can tune a chassis with computers they have proven that.

Please, oh wise one, what does destroy mean? 2+ seconds a lap faster? 3?

Where are your facts to backup your bold statements?
Don't need facts the magazines will test them head to head before too long and then you will see. And 3 seconds on a track is an eternity in racing.

The small block 5.2L/315cid GT350 Mustang spanked the big block turd 7.0L/427cid Z28 Camaro last time around. LOL
