The bottom line is there haven't been enough resales of Rs to know what the market is.
You're right BUT with only $1400 miles, it's still not bad.
Disclaimer: not sure if the car has been tracked.

I honestly dont find any non manual car exciting. I dont understand why people spend so much to pull two plastic paddle shifters.
Because he's buying it and it does 0-60 in 3 seconds,....maybe that's why??
In case you didn't know,..........that's pretty quick! I bet his car with 2 plastic paddle shifters goes faster than your car with manual shift in 0-60.

I didn't say it was bad; in fact, I didn't offer any opinion of value at all. It's not in any used-car guide, only a handful of used ones have sold (the '15s don't count) and the ones in the dealer auction reports have been high miles.

If it were my car and I needed to sell it, I'd take the rollbar out and put the car in a collector car auction like Mecum with a reserve $20K over sticker - and then adjust my thinking as the bidding proceeded. If there's no action, take it home. If bidding stalls at $70K, drop the reserve, dump it and move on to the GT3 RS. If two guys end up going crazy, let them bid the price into the stratosphere.

I'm curious how the sale went. I saw the ebay deal fell through and I was hopeful Donson was going to be able to move into the new car. I'm going to assume that after the listing ended, that he received an offer that put him one step closer to his dream car.

Best of luck Donson! Please give us an update down the road when you are comfortable with it.

I get you BUT the the term ADM should be just thrown out the window for this case. The car should be sold at what's its worth and as rare as the R is and the color, $83k is a very fair price.
While I'm not in the market for an R and never have been (I want a DD, not a weekend toy), I disagree with your thinking on pricing for this car. This place is like an echo chamber where people that either have one or want one egg each other on about how great the R is and how it's worth the large ADMs that dealerships are asking.

Well, maybe that's true for a new never been titled or modified R, they are great cars and I really like them. That said, over 82K for a modded used R with 1,400 miles is, IMHO, ridiculous. I think he'd be hard pressed to get sticker with that roll cage in the car. When I saw the roll cage pic my 1st thought was "Yeah, no thanks. I wonder what else was modded?" I'm pretty sure that was the reaction of a lot of prospective buyers as well.

Sorry Donson, I'm not bagging on your car. It's a beauty and I hope you can get what you need out of it for the GT3 RS purchase.

I understand, you're saying it's not for you. Plenty are good with it so I guess it comes down to opinions and those are like assholes, everyone has one.

We will see what the market says, the Rs demand the price because of the rarity not because of a performance gap over the 350s. Any modification will hurt it's price. I don't think the mileage is bad but you can get a new one for less then 83k if you look hard enough.

Additionally we don't know how rare the Rs will be they may make a 1000 2017s

I'm not sure why the ADM are so all over the place on this car

The opinions in this thread ...

I bought the car and am very happy with my decision. I am selling my RR 350 Track Pack to a family member, so it really could not have worked out any better.

MSRP for the loaded '17R I ordered was $68,540. Most dealers are getting huge ADM's (around 20K when I was shopping around). So that puts Donsons car at $88,500 (avg ADM factored in). Now deduct the mileage value and the fact that it is a used car, and that puts it right about where it should be. Now I know some will say they got theirs for less than 20K ADM, but that would not be the norm (even though I did ;) ). So for that reason, I don't think his price was out of the question.

In today's market, finding an R is difficult. Finding one for less than 20K ADM is a real challenge. Here you have a car for sale at a reasonable price based upon the current market.

I'd be surprised if it really didn't sell. The car looked immaculate and in the grand scheme of things, 1400 miles isn't a whole lot. There are people in this world who have money to burn and dropping $83k to them would be like you and me going out to buy a cheeseburger.

I hope Donson pipes in and lets us know how the story ends.

I'm guessing another 500 R models for '17, but Ford also MAY make 500 in '18 too. Either way, you will see in the realm of 10 350's to every 1 R.
The way its shaping up, with Hamidi/top dogs, favor cars, etc etc being made in 17, it wouldnt suprise me to see the '17 MY to be the last and up to 550-600 Rs.

I dig that roll cage too ... i was tempted to buy this one from Don. It was great talking with you!

Been pretty much a week since we have heard from Donson and it would be nice to get an update on how the sale of his R model is going?
