In the meantime, i'm wondering if using a different tranny fluid like Amsoil ATF could help some .

My experience with the Tremec engineers over the past 25 years tells me I would not try any transmission fluid other than what they specify. Unless you plan to buy a new transmission out of warranty in the future.

nah this tranny takes any genetic GM DEXRON®-VI and Ford MERCON® LV per specs from Tremec, sure you can put in any full synthetic ATF that you think is better than the Ford stuff.

I used PENNZOIL PLATINUM LV MULTI-VEHICLE ATF, 100% full synthetic

the motorcraft ATF never claimed it it full synthetic

And a class action lawsuit!
Seriously? If you wanted a track ready car buy the track pack or the R. You bought the tech pack and now it's ford's fault and your answer is to sue?

For fucks sake why is everyone so sue happy?

Seriously dude... nobody is asking for their GT350 tech to be as capable as a tech or R car. We aren't asking to be able to run a 24 hour enduro or a 3 hour or even 2 hour race. All we would like to be able to do is run several 20 minute sessions in a single day (with 40 minute breaks between them). A GT can do that. An EcoBoost can do that.

You can sit there and tell me I bought the wrong car all day long and I'll disagree with you all long. I have over 6700 miles on my car. Around 100 of those are track schoolmiles. I've had the car almost 4 months and have had it at the track for 2 days. That works out to 1.4% of the miles and 1.6% of the daily usage at the track. I have the appropriate car based on my usage pattern. Especially when you consider that the first indication I saw of any limits related to track usage and coolers was in the owners supplement that I was given AFTER the deal was completed.

Ford messed this one up -- there is absolutely NO reason for any variant of their 'halo' Mustang to be less capable than any other version of the Mustang when it comes to doing a 20 minute lapping session. It should at least be able to keep up with an instructor in an Acura ILX for a 20 minute lead/follow session in a driving school. If recent reports of limp mode being encountered on the street as summer progresses this is doubly bad. These are reasonable expectations of capability. I'm hopeful that Ford will do the right thing and provide some sort of cooler solution for tech pack owners.

And the most infuriating part is constantly defending that to people like you who don't have penny invested in the problem or solution. Mr. "Currently waiting anxiously to order a 2017 gt" according to your signature.

why isnt there some way to get the extra bits Ford already uses for their track pac that are left out of the tech pack? I don't understand why this would be so hard?

The transmission has a mechanical pump and ports for the cooler in and out on the cooler versions. The ones without a cooler have no machining of the ports and should lack the pump

Here ya go:

Should just have to modify the mounting bracket a bit. Just ordered one, I'll let y'all know how it is.
My understanding is that it is the transmission overheating, not the engine. Engine oil coolers are great for folks that track, no doubt, but I don't think this solution is relevant to the spirit of this thread.

If it will cool oil -- it will cool transmission fluid. With a little luck they'll sell the bare heat exchanger and bracket. Get some line and a pump and you're in business.
