All GT350s have engine oil coolers. That kit won't help you at all since a) the transmission is the problem and b) there's no pump included with that which would be required to get oil circulating in and out of the trans.

Sticky would be good. If not, I'll start a new thread in a monthTime for the :repost:,:search: or suggestion to the Mods there should be an official "limp mode/cooler issue" sticky.
It would be at least 6+ months before we have a kit to sell. The first kit would have the track pack trans with the internal cooler pump and factory lines, cooler etc. This kit will be expensive! They are looking at a remote pump trans cooler kit and a diff cooler kit. No pricing, eta or guarantee any of it will ever happen...
Thank you Sir.I asked nicely for any hint as to the status on this from Ford Racing. The response...
So basically what they're saying is:I asked nicely for any hint as to the status on this from Ford Racing. The response...
Amen! Ford needs to get this resolved ASAP. The Ford Performance brand is important and the brand should be protected. Which means all Ford Performance vehicles should be good on street and track. Make it happen Ford. It will be a drop in the bucket in the long run to assist Base and Tech owners.Seriously dude... nobody is asking for their GT350 tech to be as capable as a tech or R car. We aren't asking to be able to run a 24 hour enduro or a 3 hour or even 2 hour race. All we would like to be able to do is run several 20 minute sessions in a single day (with 40 minute breaks between them). A GT can do that. An EcoBoost can do that.
You can sit there and tell me I bought the wrong car all day long and I'll disagree with you all long. I have over 6700 miles on my car. Around 100 of those are track schoolmiles. I've had the car almost 4 months and have had it at the track for 2 days. That works out to 1.4% of the miles and 1.6% of the daily usage at the track. I have the appropriate car based on my usage pattern. Especially when you consider that the first indication I saw of any limits related to track usage and coolers was in the owners supplement that I was given AFTER the deal was completed.
Ford messed this one up -- there is absolutely NO reason for any variant of their 'halo' Mustang to be less capable than any other version of the Mustang when it comes to doing a 20 minute lapping session. It should at least be able to keep up with an instructor in an Acura ILX for a 20 minute lead/follow session in a driving school. If recent reports of limp mode being encountered on the street as summer progresses this is doubly bad. These are reasonable expectations of capability. I'm hopeful that Ford will do the right thing and provide some sort of cooler solution for tech pack owners.
And the most infuriating part is constantly defending that to people like you who don't have penny invested in the problem or solution. Mr. "Currently waiting anxiously to order a 2017 gt" according to your signature.
That is an engine oil cooler, as such lacks the remote pump needed to cool the transmission. Here ya go:

Should just have to modify the mounting bracket a bit. Just ordered one, I'll let y'all know how it is.
They are looking at a couple of solutions. If either works for you that's great. At this point I've seen nothing to indicate that the dealer service network will need to be tapped for proper installation. So basically what they're saying is:
Buy the track pack tranny kit we'll be selling you, get it to your local Ford dealership so they can do the work and charge you $100/hour and we'll call it a day !
As for the other solution, well .....enough said....
The concern about a third party solution or a Ford solution installed by a third party is warranty support. Hence why people want an official Ford solution that will maintain their warranty. Usually that would need to be installed by a dealer. They are looking at a couple of solutions. If either works for you that's great. Brother, do you happen to have the part numbers of everything you ordered??I couldn't have said it better!
Tech owner here. been there, done that
After being bombarded with press and video of Fords most capable mustang ever being thrashed on tracks all over the world I bought one, I was Thrilled with the car. With 1500 miles on it I entered SCCA's track night in america HPDE, A evening three session event.
I was not thrilled when my "Most track capable Mustang ever" fell on its face 9 minutes into the first session. After an hour cooling the second session I used third and fourth gear and had heavy traffic it made it through the session. Third session no traffic and 80 degrees It went full limp 6 minutes in.
I pulled off and sat on the pit wall very pissed off that this special car was incapable of lapping with 10 year old shitbox Mazda's Honda's,BMW etc.
I stumbled around for a few days, thinking about it, I found this forum then i find buried in my owners manual supplement a note that hinted that base and Tech cars should be fitted with coolers if used on a track.
Nowhere did it say in all the hype that a $7500 option will make your car less capable! You screwed up Ford!... ALL GT 350's SHOULD HAVE COOLERS!
That said I decided to fix it. I ordered the OEM cooler, brackets, ducting making it a bolt on. The cooler has spring loaded push lock fittings so also ordered the lines the connect to the cooler.
20" section of nylon braided -8 hose some fittings and a medium RB gear pump. It took a day to install. The parts cost about a grand.
Two HPDE events with full 25 minute sessions and no more problems.
The part that still winds me up is the cost to Ford to delete the trans cooler saved maybe $400. The simple fix for ford may be a reflash and raise the temp threshold. If they do anything. I don't see them handing out transmissions. To install all the OEM hardware is a big job. The bumper, radiator, a/c condenser a/c compressor, transmission must come out. Easy $7500
Yep...Big screw up on a otherwise bad ass ride.
Pardon me I don't have the funds for a car yet, I wasn't born with a silver spoon up my ass like you aparently were. When I made the sig I was in a better position, life happens. Just because I don't have a current Gen mustang does not mean I am not aloud to post in the forum. Nobody want's to sue Ford. We are patiently waiting to see what they'll do to assist Base and Tech owners. If no action is taken then some of us will take action accordingly. I was joking about the class action lawsuit, but wouldn't be surprised if some owners felt the need to do so. I might support them as a Tech owner. Ford has admitted their mistake with the 2017 packaging. Technically (no pun intended) the Tech Pack was the most popular configuration. If Ford feels so strongly transmission and differential coolers aren't needed why did they get rid of the most popular package without them? Normally you don't get rid of your most popular option!Pardon me I don't have the funds for a car yet, I wasn't born with a silver spoon up my ass like you aparently were. Oh and if u go back and check I wasn't even responding to anything you said. I was pointing out the tech pack is not meant to be tracked like the track pack and our sue happy economy is stupid.
I am entitled to an opinion, I dislike our country being so sue happy. Obvisouly I don't know your driving habits, my post was based on one comment made by someone else.
While I agree that there might be an issue with your particular car and a small percentage with others I do not believe that suing ford is the answer.
