Check your Nuts

Spent Saturday taking off my wheels & cleaning them. 5 of the lug nuts were torqued less than 100 lbs! Clayed and waxed the wheels and torqued them down to spec.

Last time i checked, i still had 2 ! ;)

My car had a few lug nuts not properly torqued, so torque wrench was set to 140lbs/ft.

Mine are intact too! gets loose in summer from the heat but thats about it.

When I got my GT, the lugs only torque to about 100ftlbs. I torqued them to 120ftlbs and it seemed like they were loosening up slightly. I then torqued them to 150ftlbs and rechecked they seemed to hold better.

Yes.

Mine were set to about 100 ft/lbs as well. I re-torqued to 110 ft/lbs. Might bump that number up.

Same lug/nut as F150 trucks. Same torque spec. Haven't heard a reason why they don't torque to spec at factory.

All 20 lugs on my car were under torqued, some were around 100. From what I've read, anyone who bothered to check had similar results. It makes me want to go over the whole car checking for fastener tightness. Panel gaps are one thing, but this crap?

I check my nuts every time I am at an autocross event. I gotta say the cooled seats in the Tech Pack cars are great for keeping things where they need to be.

It does. Luckily I changed all my calipers with less than 500 miles on the car, porperly torqued all of the lugs and rebled the brakes :lol:
