It cracks me up when Internet mechanical engineers call a piece of this car "crap/junk/garbage/trash/s**t/terrible/poorly designed, etc etc etc. Millions of dollars of research, top notch engineers with countless hours of work, thousands of hours of testing, and some guy on the internet who works on cars in his garage or doesn't know a cam from a crank can dismiss it like it's nothing.

Tremec 6060 2nd Gear Grind Issue Repair

Mine in definitely a grind going into 2nd with any sort of quickness or at a higher RPM. I can shift without it doing it but have to go slow and ease it in there. ; )

Basically how it was described to me is that the 6060's ratio from 1st to 2nd gear is a big gap and it takes a lot of bite by the synchronizer to get 2nd gear up to speed quickly to mesh in well. Hence the hybrid carbon syncho. The T-56 Magnum has these build in to alleviate this problem from the start. Supposedly the new manual in the 6th gen's is supposed to be even better. We shall see

many of the MT82 complaints are clutch related, and really clutch and MT82 are two separate components. If people take a clutch failure, they will often publish a post titled something like this : MT82 :frusty: addle:

Shifting feels notchy and there is resistance while trying to shift.

If the synchro is fighting you, it means that the assembly is having a hard time synchronizing the gear. DO NOT FORCE IT INTO GEAR! A dragging clutch will make the synchros work terribly hard so shifting will not be smooth.

I've owned and driven a lot of manual transmission cars and the 2015+ MT-82 was better than any other - with the exception of a 911 I once test drove. List includes VW, Hondas, Nissans, several newer Camaros with Tremecs, T-5, 3550, TKO, some older NP transmissions and my GT350.

What a joke. I fully understood and admitted that I made a mistake in getting what I did. Did I ever blame Ford??? NO. Did I state that I don't like some things about it? YES. Research? What a clown. I researched and considered buying another Mustang for 6 months not to mention its my 4th and then 5th one. Understanding my needs? Another joke. No one NEEDS a Mustang, everyone wants one for the fun, and WANTS to enjoy what they spend their hard earned money on. Did I make a giant fuss and threaten lemon laws, complain to Ford and bash their product, or some BS? NO. Simply admitted my mistake and moved on.

Suddenly remembering why the forums are such a turn off for thin skinned people. Nothing but negative trolls who think they are the smartest and greatest human walking the planet. Too bad the forums aren't intended for leisurely conversation and an individuals OPINIONS....

The problem is not always an R&D or an engineering issue,bean counters make them cut corners to save money,that may be the problem. In a performance car like the Boss 302 for 12/13.....as an example the shifter was such garbage,so much so that it destroyed transmissions by the hundreds. The simple solution was for a few thousand Boss owners to buy an aftermarket shifter. The GT 500 Came with a CF one piece driveshaft,the Boss ,cheap two piece junk(I killed3).....bean counters have an effect,so yes R&D and engineering is only a part of the problem

I don't know about your specific situation, but we should also keep in mind that although these are mod friendly cars, once we start pushing them harder we can't exactly blame Ford when things start to break. I've seen people blame the transmission or rear end quality and say "once i put the whipple on there and hit 700hp the crap (insert a part here) fell apart."

It's a 435 flywheel HP street car built to satisfy multiple age and lifestyle demographics and they don't owe us anything beyond what's advertised.

But to my original point, it drives me nuts to see someone say "i took it to the track and realized this shitty suspension had to go. So I ordered every product steeda makes and now it's amazing." The suspension wasn't crap. It was top notch. It just wasn't designed to tear up the track and still feel halfway decent going to the grocery store.

OP, you should get a steeda tune and put it in S mode. It gives you that really angry mode and then the smooth but powerful D mode. Nobody really talks about this, but I've been using it like this for months now and it's great!!

I don't know about Steeda, but a tune will happen eventually once a little more broken in and closer to warranty up.
