My wife commutes 50 miles round trip a day in her PP with the "clunky" 6 speed with zero complaints. She loves it.

And for what it's worth, I'm in the performance aftermarket industry, and there is zero way I could replicate the PP with aftermarket parts for the same cost as the package even with all my discounts and employee pricing.

I previously had an '08 M3 sedan and an '11 M3 coupe before my M5. We went and drove '15 and later '16 Mustang GT's with and without the PP option. Night and day. The normal ones felt sloppy in comparison, and the PP honestly reminds me of my '11 M3. Any time I can drive a car with a $3x,xxx MSRP and it reminds me of a car with a $7x,xxx MSRP, I'm happy.

I love my manual too -- I have added the Steeda transmission mount insert, and the Blowfish Racing shifter mount, and now it's even better. I've ordered an Anarchy Motive shift knob, and Boomba Racing short shifter as well. For the joy of driving, it's a manual for me -- every time. I don't disagree with the OP about the gearing -- it would be a little better with a 3.55, I think -- but this car is such a blast to drive. Nothing a taller tire and/or a tune won't fix...

I was on the fence about MT vs AT when i bought my car too. Ended up getting MT and never looked back. Yeah, its a little notchy when cold and the driveshaft slack is annoying but other than that its super smooth and i really have fun driving it.
One of the reasons i didnt get the AT was because that transmission is super outdated. I come from a E90 M3 with a DCT so the 6AT in the Mustang felt prehistoric.

I love the Auto, but I admit; if the GT PP came in an Auto, I'd be all over it. That decision by Ford still baffles me.

No, you couldn't. You do not have a full PP available in US. You do not have Strut Tower Brace, you do not have Torsen differential with 3.71 gearing and who the hell knows what else...

I also went into the dealership wanting a manual but left with the auto and 3.55 gears and its been pretty nice. I still grab for the shifter and my foot still wants to hit the clutch...LOL! Every time someone asks me if its a manual and I say no they say sorry, then I say i'm not.

I've honestly never had anyone ask me if my car was a manual or not. It's always about something else like "How fast does it go? How many horses does it have? How did you get it sound like that? Can I see the engine? Would you mind revving it? Get a lot of speeding tickets?" Nobody cares what transmission it has.

Am interested in your theory about why all those people ask him if they don't care. ;)

I've been asked a couple of times "automatic or stick" on two occasions I have said 6 -speed and was promptly asked auto or stick again. It was confusing as hell at first, but it was explained to me that their are 6-speed autos. So now I say STICK when asked.
I prefer the MT82 as opposed to the auto. Has more to do with my old-school upbringing when it comes to hotrods. Autos are cool they are quick but I just enjoy changing gears on the street, chirping tires etc.

Really? Ok. Probably because they're the kind of people who think a sportscar is only a sportscar if it has a stick coming out of its console. He says they reply with "Sorry" when he tells them its an auto. Sorry for what, exactly? No one does that. At least, no one has ever done that to me in all the years I've been driving various vehicles with various transmissions.
