Thanks for chiming in. Hope you don't mind a question or two. I have it in my head that factory cats are not made to last with a supercharger. Wondering if you have any longevity data with your supercharger and the OEM cats? Guessing it's related to how many hp a person is going after and how often they hammer it. Wondering if you have a healthy sized customer base running the Whipple and wondering if you've heard much of the cats going bad. Sorry I'm completely new to FI, I know plenty of cars came stock with FI, just wonder if they normally come from the factory with better flow characteristics vesus the converters that came with my GT. Sorry if that was too many questions, hope it wasn't too much of a derail for the OP.
Nobody has more of these out there running in one trim. Some like PC and Paxton have a lot out but they are either far lower power or have lots of custom tunes. We spent thousands of hours testing in Ford labs, well over 100 hours of steady WOT running.

Nothing OEM makes quite the power, Hellcat being the closest and yes it has a better flowing exhaust compared to a 6.4 stock NA. On the S550, a better exhaust system picks up more power as it lowers temps and the PCM usually adds more timing automatically. But we test to extreme conditions to make sure you get max power while maintaining reliability.

No question a stock cat will survive. We do extreme steady state WOT testing to prove the cat saver mode will work and maintain.

I understand some say no problem but it can be a problem. Therefore it's best to have the best of both worlds, max power and emissions legal.
"Cat saver mode", first I have ever heard of that. I would expect anything like that to limit performance, but seeing that your customers are more than happy, seems that's not the case. Curious on how it works?

Cat saver uses fuel to cool down exhaust and yes it will limit power. In most cases it will not kick in until roughly 15 seconds of wot running steady. Each time you lift it cools down so drag racing, dyno, spirited driving on the street you won't reach. Try to run 200 and you will be in it.

Every car produced with cats has cat saver mode stock. the power loss is not as drastic as one would think.

Thank you for the explanation. By the way I saw your logo on a set of shorts a UFC guy was wearing.

I have to vote Whipple stage II with their Flight control and customer service it is hard to beat. It may not be the cheapest but do you really want to cut corners here.

600rwhp is nice but 700rwhp is so much more fun and with the flight control you can tone it down in the 1st few gears to get it of the line. No one else offers this technology. I drive my car similar to what you described and it now drives better than when I drove it off the showroom floor. Whipple's calibration is hard to beat.

Agreed there are other great systems out there and other great vendors and they have helped me out too but I still vote Whipple and it looks great when you open the hood :)

Where was that thread that listed all the different supercharges and gave a price per HP, that would prob be pretty useful to this guy also

That is a very subjective list as every dyno reads differently and every motor is slightly different. Someone in Seattle might make 650 on x-brand charger and someone with the exact same mods will only pull 610 in Denver.

I'd love to have 10K to blow on a whipple, but honestly it's out of my price range and out of my usability range. Not everyone needs to have the absolute best tuning, most horsepower, or the brand name under their hood. For quite a few of us, 600 hp is plenty fine and is easily achievable for a lot less in a centri, with a custom tune, that will run fine for years to come.

Or just wait for a sale. Some vendors usually have a 15% off sale on Whipple around 2 times per year. A stage 2 whipple kit with fan upgrade is $8595. After the 15% off... $7,305.75. Not sure where you came up with $10k. Granted, it is more than the Beef special or a Roush kit but you get what you pay for. The tuning alone is worth the additional cost of the whipple.

If you do a procharger stage 2 with a d1 upgrade, that would be comparable to the paxton setup.

both are great kits, just less expensive with the paxton.

our paxton package is our best seller and we have some great forum specials and discounts to get you setup on.

we are vortech and paxtons largest auto dealer in the world :) we also do a lot with procharger too.

hard to beat what we can do on these paxton setups though.

race gas tune with the 3.6 pulley is a proven 9 second combo if you can drive a manual or have a converter in an auto car.

Including the price for install at most shops, you're at $10K. Sure, I could install it myself but that doesn't mean I should.

Lol, what shops are quoting you $2700 for an install. The install cost will range $1000 to $1200 and some will try to get over on you at $1500. The install cost is something that will facture into any SC, not just a whipple. So, by your logic, all other kits are free to install. Lol, just do everyone a favor and stop giving input.

Wait, so you're busting my balls because I don't want to pay for a whipple? How bout you stop swinging from their nuts and being offended that I don't want to pay for one? Where did I say anything about free install? I'm comparing prices of whipple to Paxton or Procharger which still adding the install charge is still LESS than a whipple.

How bout you do everyone a favor and stop giving input...you don't like my opinion on something how bout just passing by my post cause IDGAF what you think about how I spend MY money. People always jumping into threads that don't even ask about the SC you have. Talking to me about giving input...pot calling kettle black there ya fanboy.
