Yeah Im not sure why to even compare the cars... only thing they have in common is the price. Both around 65k. Assuming they drive the R. Im just waiting for that GT500 vs ZL1 comp.
LOL!!!!! Just to clarify, Quick stands for acceleration times, Fast stands for MPH/speed as in the 1/4 mi trap spd. Funny how stupid people are, saying 0-60 mph in 3.5 sec is FAST.... LOL, That is a measurement of quickness, not speed folks. 60 mph is "fast", 3.5 sec is darn "quick". Anyone get it yet??? Just like when talking Torque, it's a form of measurement, and when one says: ft-lbs, I know they don't know what they're talking about... You can't put feet into pounds. However, you can put pounds into X amount of feet. Racing Professionals and Engineers say lb-ft, while tuners, weekend racers, etc and some not so common magazines say ft-lbs, lol. Anyway, the new mustang vs ZL, that'll be a "no contest" match up.... The last 2010-2015 580 hp ZL got slayed by the 2013-14 GT500 in acceleration and braking, and was close to tying the ZL in handling. The old ZL was more on par with the 2010-2012 GT500 540-550 hp. They both ran 113-115 in the 1/4 mi and 12.4-12.6 in the 1/4... And 0-60 mph in 4.3-4.5 sec. A 2012 convertible ZL1 auto did 12.8@ 112 mph. The extra 170 lbs hurt it. So, the newer 2013-14 GT500 averaged 3.9 sec 0-60 and quickest/fastest 1/4: 11.6@126... average 1/4's were 12.1@123... The new Cobra/GT500 Cobra will leave the new ZL in the dust from an acceleration standpoint again. How? Well the new ZL is still over 4050 lbs wet... The last GT500 was 3875 lbs... The GT350R like in this test vs the ZL, is 3680 lbs... The new mustang supercar will be around 3775-3850 lbs and have over 730 hp, plus the same 10 spd auto option and "manga-doodle" suspension. A few close friends in FMC have told me this new mustang will be more of a threat to the C7 ZR1, than the new Z0... however, the Z0 will get the 10 spd tranny by 2018 for 2019 Z06's.... It MIGHT be in the new ZR1 too.

Yes, SAE uses Lb-Ft for the standard unit for torque to differentiate it from work, which is specified in Ft-Lbs.

I think I got it...if the guy in the GT500 has a fat girl friend, it should be a pretty close race..

Didn't know the SS 1LE was a party to this comparison. Oh, wait, you mean because n a different day, with a different driver and different conditions, a SS 1LE put down a number on the same track equal to what the GT350R did in this comparison? That being the case, why even buy a ZL1 when it is barely faster than an SS 1LE? Please!
It kind of is though... it's close enough in times at certain tracks, surprisingly. That also comes with a price tag in the low to mid 40k range. I would wager that SS 1le is a little easier to drive at full song on track than the 350. You would need to have a bit more experience behind the wheel to pull the absolute max out of the 350 on a track day.

Track has some long sweepers - certainly would help a high HP car.

When can I see this video? :)

The fact that the GT350R is quicker than a camaro z/28, which was the be all end all of tracks not long ago, makes me proud.

Am I the only one who realized that the GT350R splitter is falling off?

It didn't start off looking like that. In the Instagram pics the splitter looks ok. Something might have happened, bashed a curb too hard perhaps. I've not seen the video, so I'm only speculating based in the IG pics.
