3 seconds faster around GM's track. It has been spotted at the Ring. Any guesses on time? Me thinks this thing is going to be very close to a Z06.
well everytime they release a new edition it is three seconds faster around GM's track - eventually they will reverse time and the world will spin backwards.

The gt350 vs GT mustang has a 91hp gain, a totally different engine, trans, suspension, aero, body work, brakes, better seats and interior pieces. Etc.

By the way. Ford has more money in the bank than GM and dodge or Toyota. The numbers were just posted a week or two ago.

The only reason why GM is cutting cost on the camaro is because it's a shared platform and engine. Stop being blindsided.
This is a good point. 61 K base 17 ZL1, 75K 3 year older less contented Z.

Does anyone really know what they make on a car besides some top level executives? I bet that's even an estimate. I'm sure there is a good bit of room in the pricing. They will charge somewhere between a predetermined minimum profit and what they can get away with.

I think Ford could easily turbo a crossplane 5.2 350, beat the ZL1 in most if not all metrics(Ford never seems to match GM's braking distances or FE). I'm almost more confused than pissed at them for not doing so already. It almost feels like a "political" thing rather than a failure to engage the competition or an engineering challenge issue. The hybrid boregasam announcement makes me think this way. Did they really think that was going to get us off till 2020? I'm about 25% believing it, and that's enough to piss me off.

And if its political, I already bought my last Ford.

Those camaro guys never let up sounds more like their trying to convince themselves more than anything. Without a supercharger the pushrod engine is pretty much at it's limits.
Push rod does ok against the gt350....

Unless they go full race pushrod engine can't compete with a OHC engine
I guess a 650/650 pushrod engine is full race then. The 350 is outclassed there and especially in suspension /aero.

But never fear the 500 trump card is coming. It will happen.

That's not what I said 600 to 700 hp is getting at the limit. Reliability is the factor the car companies have to deal with. There are push rod engines producing well over 3000hp but it doesn't matter to those people using them if they blow at the end of the 1/4 mile. I simply saying that a OHC engine can produce more hp more reliable at higher hp levels. Check out the 662hp Shelby GT500 of 13 and 14 mys.

I know we're talking about the ZL1 1LE here, but,.......I can't wait to see a ZL1 line up with a '13 or '14 GT500.
The GT500 with some mods against a'17 automatic 10 speed ZL1, just to make it somewhat even. From a dig, from a rolling start and quarter mile times. Not just once. A couple races of each just to fully confirm wins.

Yeah, they would be great races all the way around. UNTIL, like you said,....it got to the road course. lol

He shares it with the V6 Camaro, why not the ZL1? Besides, 1LE is not a model or "nameplate" anyway.
