Your experiences with a Ghost cam tune

So just today I decided to get a ghost cam tune. Man it sounds loud and rowdy but when driving it ,during stops or idle it gets kind of jumpy. Like the car almost is bouncing lol. What are you guys experiences with a ghost cam tune?

100%. Essentially, they make the car run poorly on purpose, to simulate a camshaft profile that favors power at high rpm over smooth running at low rpm on a pre-variable cam timing engine. That kind of thing was (is?) done on engines where variable cam timing is not a thing and you really need that last 20hp at the top of the rpm range above all else. The trade off was poor running at idle. Many people did this back in the day on their muscle car engines, so people associate it with a powerful engine when they hear it. Modern valve trains with variable timing allow for best of both worlds and everything in between, so the trade off is gone. Ghost cam tunes are also probably really good at melting cats.

I've read a lot of stories of motor failures running a ghost cam tunes. I wouldn't do it. But to each their own.

I just put big cams in the engine. Comp cams 292 was a good one

This isn't 2011 anymore. Get a snap crackle pop tune.... But don't forget your battle wing, curb feelers, and fake vents so you can really be the talk of the car show....

The ghost cam tune is just a gimmick. the car will run worse at idle, but chop. No tuner will try to make that better for you as it is what it is. I hope you don't have cats or you won't have them too long...

I had a ghost cam tune.

Pros:
- Sounds cool when idling

Cons:
- Randomly stalls
- Drivability sucked. 2nd gear 10mph would almost stall. Regular tune it was just fine.
- WASTES MY GAS 2x
- A lot more fumes come out the back.
