Just want to add to the confusion around membership requirements. The dealer is stating that you have to have been a member for sixty days before you qualify. Even though the MCA leadership says this isn't the case, you just need a one year membership. MCA is unreachable and this needs to be settled within 24 hours. My friend is being asked to return his car to the dealer, he's pissed enough to do it.

Does anyone know a person to contact to help clear this up? The dealer is a stone wall. They are actually willing to take the car back with 400 miles on it and lose the deal than fix this.... I'm involved because I showed him this no hassle way and now he's in for the biggest hassle ever. Ford, MCA, and I all look like idiots to this customer.
The dealer is correct. You must be a member for 60 days to use the X Plan PIN.

Hey all. I'm comagt's friend who now has a 2015 GT sitting in his garage and is about to return it if I can't settle this with the dealership.

I've known for several months while lurking this forum that the '60 day' clause of the Ford Partnership Program is probably the most confusing of the entire agreement. I've read it, read other owner's testimonials, and made the decision that it meant a membership of 60 or greater days, not necessarily a RUNNING membership of 60 days before being eligible to purchase under X-Plan.

I'm working with the dealer to provide a statement from MCA about my membership, but am also prepared to drive the car back in 24 hours if this can't be worked out. It's a bit disappointing, but rules are rules. I talked with some nice people from Ford Customer Service as well as FPP today but they're both saying this is in the dealer's court.

From the sound of it, MCA is at a show and hasn't been able to return my calls or emails. We'll see how this plays out!

Have them bring the car back and look for a more ethical dealer. In my purchase of a 2015 Mustang vert, I asked a dealer if they would "accept" X-Plan pricing and their Internet salesman said, " I can accept X-Plan, but our price is below that". What??? Below X-Plan, really?! And yes it was. So shop around...deals exist.

Oh well, you can just go in turn in the keys and thank them for letting you borrow the car for a bit.

As always the fine print of "Dealer participation may vary" seems to never be truer than in your instance.

If the the dealer wants the car back, take it back. I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason. He may find another cheaper.

Dealer profit trumps Dealer goodwill in this situation. The deal could stand upheld by the Dealer...or the deal could stand upheld by Ford, but NO! Profit rules here. The problem here lies between Ford and MCA. This poor customer happens to be caught by "the rules"...vague and confusing as they are. Too bad.

It seems the heat is on.

I just got a call from the dealership GM. He's going to call FPP to make sure we're all on the same page with the '60 days' clause. Sounds like they want to keep the sale.

Back to the holding pattern...

Hang in there Bert...there's a lot of readers here that are pulling for you. The Dealer should have known "the rules" before he offered you your deal. If the salesmen and the dealer's are confused as to how the "X-Plan Game" is played, how should the customer interpret the miscommunication between MCA and Ford. Good Luck.

Or tell him you will pay 200 over invoice without X-Plan... Even 500 over invoice isn't that bad a deal...

So after much back and forth, we've come to an agreement.

It's been a nerve-wracking experience, but it doesn't change how I feel about the car and can now move forward with actually enjoying it!

Thanks all for the feedback!

^^^ So that means you're keeping the car with the original deal? If so, congrats getting through the BS ... enjoy the ride!

I know for a fact that the 2012-2014 GT500 was eligible for x-plan and ford employee days.

But I do have one question, does the dealer make less money if they allow the client to use x-plan? I would imagine the rebate would come from Ford Motor Co and the only thing dealer loses is the waived admin fee.
From the Ford site on X plans Q & A;

25. Do Dealers make a profit on Plan purchases and/or leases?
Yes. Dealers receive a commission from Ford Motor Company on each Plan transaction.

I think mine has elected to beat X-plan with me, and mark up their own admin fee, since X-plan caps that at $100, and then has a discreet charge for gas versus the dealers "complimentary" tank of gas. I don't care how they do it, so long as the money is right.

Yeah but a $500 doc fee vs $100 doc fee and you may not be paying less. Believe me the dealer is making more by not using the Xplan.
