Wouldn't custom options be nice?

I have been checking out Dodge's Hellcat Challenger and Charger and the new Jail Break editions. You can customize your seat and seat belt colors, calipers, and other options. It's too bad Ford didn't offer several caliper color options because the bright red actually clashes with certain color paints. At this price point, they should have.

IMO, it's bitter-sweet.

It is nice to customize certain attributes of the car, yet...In the past, I've gone to the Porsche site to price something out, what-ifs; they have soo many options it becomes confusing and frustrating. Ditto with the Chevrolet site and looking at the Camaro, although I'd love to have an option to completely replace the dashboard (I can't stand it. LOL).

Instead of so many options, I'd prefer special, one-off, one year only options or packages, like a specific paint color or scheme. HEP and Brittany Blue come to mind. Ice was pretty cool (pun intended). Custom calipers and other complimenting touches could be included.

In light of recent supply chain issues, how well are Dodge and other vendors coping in maintaining wide varieties of the same item?

Porsche had endless possibilities for a price but getting replacement parts even before Covid took as long as a year or more.

It would be cost prohibitive for a manufacturer like Ford that is not setup for this to do it. The cost to the end user would be much higher then just simply taking them off and have a local shop do them or do them yourself to whatever color you want. Many have done just that.

It does suck that you can’t get black accent package and performance package together. I think Ford needs to stop putting so much stuff in one package. For example make the black accent pack just a badge thing, the wheels suck anyways. Also break up the performance package. Maybe I just want brembo brakes and not the suspension or vice versa. Then offer all the wheels on every trim. For example a base car with black accent wheels or performance pack wheels. I don’t think it would get too crazy for manufacturing as these are all parts that are interchangeable anyways.

Umm the interior in any mustang is undeniably bad...

Whatever you say. Lost in the GT500 forum again?
The interior is ok in a $40/50 K car but in a $80 K + ?
Things to keep in mind is all the extra performance for the extra cost
Obviously Ford spent the money on performance and not on luxuries
I like that choice

Yes, it’s the biggest compliant I have with Ford and the Mustang line.
I’m all in for putting the focus on the performance, but after having SRT and other makes, it’d be nice to have some interior color/material choices as well as exterior choices (wheel choice/color, caliper color, and a trim package like CF).
The S550 has been going strong for 7yrs.

I just have to ask… since you’re putting it out here… can you be more specific as to how the S550 interior is ā€œbadā€?

Yes, and the jailbreak editions are tough to get, and a lot of guys have reported being unable to order.

The jailbreak is Dodge last gasp at the Hellcat before it's gone for good. The Mustang is not going anywhere. It's apples and oranges comparison.

Have you sat in any other car that costs what the 500 is with it's markup, you're talking luxury supercars. Please exit the conversation if you haven't a clue how much better other interiors at the same price point or less.

You're disappointed that you overpaid for an inferior car comparatively to the same price point as others. Don't be mad at me cause you did that lol
