I can't lie. I saw Jmeo's wheel that he got from Tim at Beith Performance Parts and knew exactly what I wanted - the same wheel. So I contacted Time and suppled him with a photo of what I was looking for and he wrote up an invoice and the wait began.

Not inexpensive, I get it. But I was looking to get away from the stock alcantara wheel and felt that some carbon fiber trim would be a good match for the dash. I had swapped a GT350R steering wheel for the stocker on my GT350 so I was familiar with the swap (aside from the paddles) and figured this one to be quick and painless. It took a bit to get it (thanks Corona!) but it came a short time ago and I put it on today. Here's some of the install.

First, kudos to Tim for packing the wheel with care - much appreciated.

I disconnected the battery and then popped the airbag off by releasing the two spring clips.

Removing the bolt first, followed by feeding the unplugged harnesses through the wheel and it comes right out.

I put the two wheels next to each other for close inspection before disassembling anything on either one.

I then removed a myriad of Torx screws so that the switches/bezels could be removed from the stock wheel.

Bezels removed, I swapped in the switches to the CF pieces from the factory ones.

Tim's fiber work is absolutely top notch. I honestly did not expect it to be this good and I'm thankful he exceeded my expectations. Switches in place, I started to assemble the Beith wheel.

Again, I was really impressed with how tight and perfectly contoured the trim pieces were.

Same goes for the white stitching...

Paddles fit without a hitch as well.

Installation onto the column goes very quick. Slide the wheel on, add and tighten the center bolt, plug in the respective harnesses/air plug module and snap it into place. Reconnect the battery and she's all done.

Next up - I scored a never used FRPP rear seat delete kit which is identical to what is used on CFTP cars. Shaping up for warm weather if Mother Nature ever decides to play nice!

Thanks again for the idea Jmeo...

I can agree with everything you said about the wheel, Tim makes an absolutely beautiful steering wheel. As I have said before, this is the most direct link to a driver and the car. Every time you you climb into your car, you see, touch, and connect with the steering wheel, why not make it the best wheel on the market?

Excellent write-up Tob, with your heightened attention to detail. I hope you actually get to enjoy your purchase soon.

Tob, that really was a great write up and it's a very well made wheel. I agree with Jaime, hope you will get to enjoy the car soon. I think we are a little similar in that we've been doing nothing but working on our cars and not driving them as much but it's fun to work on them too. Didn't you find that it was difficult removing the clips for the airbag? I mean if you get in there just right, it pops right off but sometimes I have a hell of a time unclipping them.

The carbon fiber thumb grip inserts are terrific, gives it some CF but leaves it off of the major grip surfaces (not a fan of glossy slick wheel sections).
Exactly my feeling as well. I absolutely love them, and I am not a fan of plastic feeling steering wheels.

Looks great! I tried contacting him a few times and he did get back to me once and then never again after I asked to get a wheel just like yours but with orange stitching. Maybe calling him is better?

One side played games with me but eventually disengaged. A small diameter screwdriver with the blade end cut and squared off would have made things easier for sure.

I never had his phone number but went back and forth via email a few times. Orange stitching on an orange car would be kinda neat!

Yes I thought so as well and I reached out to him again regarding it and looks like we will place the order, he states 5 weeks or so. I have plenty of other mods to install that just showed up including this new massive CAI from 1320 junkie... painted twister orange of course, this will go nicely with palm beach Dyno nguage tuning and lethal pipes. This intake made 47whp over stock

Really digging the steering wheel. I would like to get my hands on all the carbon fiber trim pieces that were used on your steering wheel.

Thread revival wow. Great looking product though for sure. Wonder how those CF pieces would look on the stock wheel.

I'd kill to find a CFTP/R seat delete, lucky. Hoping to swap one day with someone who actually wants back seats.

Problem is, the car is still limited to 360lbs of people and bags.

Ford should undoubtedly make the RSD an option for all Mustangs, it seems to be quite popular. Without youngins, you'd never use the seats anyway and I can say from personal experience, it's nicer to be able to dump stuff in the big divets that remain. :-)

And I STILL want one of Tim's CF steering wheels. One day soon, I hope.

I love the wheel. Everytime I get in the car it's like having a perfect set of tits before your eyes just begging to be....er, driven.

Life's short. Grab it by the tits and drive.
