Already had interest in my existing car and its not officially up for sale.

Think i will be ordering.

Just need to decide on colour.

It's either DIB or CO and I want the ceramic leather. Just need to see it in the flesh with the CO.

On the topic of money is going to be super douchey like me and pay for the car in hard-cash, rather than through cards/cheque/Bank Transfer etc.
I paid for a car with a significant large pile of cash once and it was a rather grubby and fraught experience. I handed over the cash and they went away to count it and after a few minutes I got to thinking that if they made a counting error or lost some of the cash while I was outside the room then there was no way for me prove that I given them the correct amount unless we counted it together and it was very difficult keeping track of so many stacks on £1000's. I doubt many car dealers will take that much cash now. I paid for my Mustang in about 20 seconds using a debit card and then drove off the forecourt.

Just paid the whole amount by cheque, normally they wouldn't accept a 38k plus amount but since there was a long wait on the build time and delivery, they took it no problem.

More the inner douche in me that wants to do it, other than the practicality. I see some irony in them waiting to see how much money they've got from me (with me knowing it's the full amount) after they've made us wait so long, time to make them actually work for their commission

There's no amount of devilry would be sufficient to make me want to walk around with £30k+, secure box or otherwise. But then I pay for everything with plastic so why would a car be any different. The (only) advantage of the expected 13/14 month wait is that the cash is in place.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a week or so.
I ordered a GT 2 weeks ago. When I ordered I was told the waiting list was 13 months.
My order form says estimated delivery is Feb 2017. Does this vary from dealer to dealer? Could I get it earlier elsewhere?

Also you can get the dealer to put a clause into the order form to say that your £1000 is refundable until the vehicle is collected. My dealership agreed to this without any hesitation. I have ordered a black on black car, and they basically said if you don't want it, no problem, it'll shift instantly. So that gives a bit of extra security.

Welcome and congrats on the purchase.

Yep waiting list seems to be 9-13months, nobody really knows what can happen in the future, some dealerships are getting them quicker, but it's like a month quicker and depends really when you put your deposit down.

Most dealers have the 1000 deposit as refundable, up until the dealership has 'bought' the car, at that point the 1000 becomes non-refundable, however in retrospect the popularity of the car means that Ford can literally shift that car if you were to cancel.

I was told by my dealer that 4 pots were expected to take 7 to 9 months, but that GT models are now around 13 months. Due to the tax change I would imagine most V8s ordered now on will not be registered until April 17.

I've had £150 back off the premium bonds since I ordered. Small mercies.
