Check out this seller on eBay :

For a U.K. salvage yard, they seem to get a surprising amount of mustangs.

I’m not connected with them in anyway and neither have I bought from them so this isn’t a recommendation :like:

WD :like:
Unfortunately they don’t sell the wiring harnesses
I wonder if they would in a face to face / cash / no paperwork / no warranty type scenario ?

Oh yeah the part number is 5310567
That is not a complete Ford part number
Ask them to give you the full part #
Good Ford garages seem pretty rare over here and knowledge of the Mustang even rarer, I might be tempted to try a different garage and also ask for screenshots etc.

@luc - Ford in there wisdom have different / alternative part numbers for the U.K. parts system, sometimes my parts guy has been able to link them up with the US numbers, sometimes not … :frown:

The Ford service manual (available from Helm Inc) has wiring diagrams and some note the RHD versions. These may have enough information to repair or recreate your harness.

Even if export/rhd. Have a different part #, that is not a real part #. Ford will always have also letter in it and it’s much longer
The only exception is for some fasteners but even those would have at least 1 letter

First,
is this the "2016 GT" in your profile, or another year S550 Mustang? You're not revealing much info about the car - the more the better which will help us to help you.

Second,
The wiring in the S550's can be quite complex due to what each S550 had for options, modules, etc. The harnesses for the modern day Mustang aren't like those of the past - meaning the harnesses don't come with every single wire and associated connectors with sub-harnesses for options A-Z.

If you can't find a replacement salvage yard harness, then do as suggested above - you can get the same gauge wiring (in some instances colors close to the original if beyond black) from almost any Hobby/Home/Electronics outlet.

Aside from the wiring, you can also get the Ford connectors through the Ford Motorcraft catalog (or the other links below):

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/ultimate-motorcraft-wire-pigtail-connector-guide.122242/

These below links may also help you find the plug or connector. I have no affiliation with the below businesses or know of their business etiquette, just passing along the info.

--------------------

If you search a little further, anyone can get the Ford wiring diagram manuals from eBay for MANY years of Mustangs. Here's just one listing of many (for a 2016):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2555314994...hl9KDNqlt1AK0xu27gLUG0PTig==|tkp:BFBM8qyM17ph

You can also go to the Ford Etis (Euro side) or Ford Motorcraft (US side) and plug the VIN. By doing so you'll get the "As Built" data that shows what the car was equipped with and you can use that info to tie back to a possible donor. Plug the donor's VIN and see how many of the components match between the (2) vehicles.

--------

The problem you are running up against is the fact there are differences between a UK and US harness due to all the physical changes designed between each platform to suit each Country's motor vehicle requirements.

Also on eBay - MANY S550 harnesses. You can search and search for them - not all are labeled "front, rear, body, engine" etc. Just do a generic search when looking for anything on eBay using the make, model and year - then put the word "wiring harness" after it. Yes you'll get a boatload of returns, BUT you may find what you need OR a harness that has similar lengths and colors of wiring that can be used for a repair effort.

-----

Can you take pics and post to show us what you're working with as far as the location and damages?

Usually all black wires are "earth" or "grounds". Those as well as any colored wires have specific alpha/numeric mappings as to what they go to, control or for tracing in the Ford Wiring Diagrams. The same is true with wiring connectors, they too are mapped in a similar fashion for back tracing, etc.

---

That's all I have to offer, hopefully something above is helpful.

I know we are a little off topic now, but here are example ford U.K. part numbers from my recent warranty claim :

1674331339111.jpeg

And some of my other warranty claims :

1674331684243.webp

So the number of digits is correct and judging by the above, I think the chance of it being a letter ‘F’ on the front is quite high :like:

Hi Guys just a quick update in case this happens to someone else I managed to fix my wiring harness by using the wiring Diagramm and also buying a US version of the harness and depinning about 30/40 wires and transferring them over to my harness. Works perfectly fine now thanks for everyone’s advice

Good to hear you're on the way to getting it back on the road again!

Did you end up getting the harness used from eBay or another source?
