Is there a vendor that has winter packages with affordable rims for winter already mounted with something like Blizzaks (sp?)? It seems that with so many Mustangs being delivered with tires that are pretty much worthless in the winter, this would be a natural.

ANy vendor like Tire Rack will sell you a winter setup, mounted, balanced, and ready to bolt on. That's what I did. Your choice of wheels and tires. Its super simple.

I don't want to have to waste time picking out rims for the winter and from what I've seen on forums for many different cars, there are a lot of guys who feel the same way. "Hey, can anybody recommend winter rims and tires for my new car?" They just want to go to a website and find winter packages. Rims inexpensive enough that you don't care about ruining them in the winter with winter tires paired up to them. Hell, for winter, I'd put old fashioned steelies on if they came in the right size. Assuming they cost less than other options.
You can find performance packages, why not winter packages?

Problem is you can't get steelies in the 18s or 19s or that will fit over the brakes, we'd probably all do that, I sure woulda preferred a cheap(er) steelie.

If you don't care what they look like, just go to tire rack and get the cheapest ones that fit. They do the whole package thing so you'll know everything will fit. They even do TPMS.

plug in your car details and go.

I personally really like the Dunlop Winter Sport 4D. It's a winter perfomance tire as opposed to a dedicated snow tire like the Blizzack. Much better performance in the cold but dry weather which is probably 85% of what I drive in. Yet still plenty of grip in the snow (at least on my front drive cars I've had them on, this will be my first winter with rear wheel drive but I don't anticipate a problem).

Hi,

I have similar issue with OP, however, little more complicated.

I recently switched over from V6 with 18" to GT with PP. the issue is that I already have a set of winter tires that was barely used for 18" wheels on V6. The issue is that I can't find any 18" wheel that can fit with Brembo..

I know the simple answer which will be getting 19" wheel and tires, however, it will cost an arm and leg and since I have a set of it for 18", I'm thinking there must be a way to use that...

Any recommendation? Plz?..

I'd love a set of steelies that clear the PP Brembo's and some winter tires.
Need4SpeedMotors if you guys came up with something like this, I bet it'd sell pretty well. Something that'd clear the Brembo's would clear all the other brakes and could be sold as a one-stop Winter Tire package for the S550.

In the same boat - but my 18" came off my SHO. I am just going to sell them and use the proceeds towards rims/tires for the Mustang. Sucks but there it is......

Ive no idea why no one is making a 18/19" steelie for applications such as this, Im kind of baffled. Had the same problem ~4/5 years ago with my Genesis and 19's and Brembos.

a Steelie that clears Brembos hmmm

It would be heavy unless I do spun forged and make it look like a steelie lol

Discount tire. And maybe American muscle for replica wheels for cheap.

If that means what I think it means, it would probably defeat that whole "cheap winter rim" thing we're going for here.
lol cast it is then
