Window Tinting

How dark is yours? I'm having mine tinted on Monday. My car is DIB, so something that goes well with that would be fantastic. 20%? 15%? What say you?

I kept mine legal, don't have any photos on hand but did the Formula 1 pinnacle at 30% which when you use the tint meter comes out to about 27% just above Texas legal limit of 25% I really like the look and did not lose the auto dimming functionality like some here have.

i did 35% on the drivers and passenger windows, and 5% on back and quarter windows. Using Llumar CTX ceramic tint

I'm in Austin too (actually Cedar Park). I was told by the tint shop that 30% was the darkest legally allowed in Texas, and that's what I went with. had the same percentage and brand on my G37s. It's plenty dark for me and the tint on the G looked brand new when I sold her right after getting the Stang.

Below is a pic of ruby with her 30% shades on. Hope to you into around Austin. Figuratively of course; not literally. Post a pic of your DIB after you get her tinted.

I think that's that the brand, and I know it's the tint percentage, that I had them put on. i.e. 30%.

Front side windows in Virginia dictate you mus allow 50%. I have mine at 35% along with a special application to the DMV signed by my doctor regarding sunlight and associated migraines.

A 50% tint from the inside almost looks like there's no tint at all.

I've seen a few parked, specifically a silver one at the HEB on 620 and Anderson Mill. Sounds like 30% is where I'm at.

Legal limit 35% in NC. Paid $170 for all windows except windshield. These so called "professionals" $85 an hour, now I've got to have the rear window redone. 2 large hand prints between film and glass. Wish I made $85 an hour.

I have lumar CTX 35% all around and lumar air 80% in the windshield, not doing it for the look but for heat reduction. Total cost was 350$. Fairly Reasonable for ceramic tint. I would strongly recommend ceramic tint, especially if you live in South. It will not block the cell signal, looks the best and with the best heat rejection rate.
