This only occurs when the car has been driven in decently strong rain. The moisture you see in the picture is behind the ceramic tint and cannot wiped. It will eventually dry and show no sign that it occurred. I brought it to my tint guy during a good rain. He has never seen it before and he does this for a living, has done it for over ten years but we are both dumbfounded. As you can see in the picture, it only occurs in this strip on both driver and passenger window. The strip sits between the two pieces of weatherstripping when the window is raised and door is closed.
He says he will re-tint it if the adhesive lets loose but he is not convinced the manufacturer will cover it since it is such an odd occurrence. My question is has anyone seen this before or can anyone confirm they have the same hole in their weatherstripping in the second picture? The hole seems intentional as it is on both sides. No water inside the car, weatherstripping appears to be installed correctly and the windows were left up for seven days after it was installed. Any ideas?
