This only occurs when the car has been driven in decently strong rain. The moisture you see in the picture is behind the ceramic tint and cannot wiped. It will eventually dry and show no sign that it occurred. I brought it to my tint guy during a good rain. He has never seen it before and he does this for a living, has done it for over ten years but we are both dumbfounded. As you can see in the picture, it only occurs in this strip on both driver and passenger window. The strip sits between the two pieces of weatherstripping when the window is raised and door is closed.

He says he will re-tint it if the adhesive lets loose but he is not convinced the manufacturer will cover it since it is such an odd occurrence. My question is has anyone seen this before or can anyone confirm they have the same hole in their weatherstripping in the second picture? The hole seems intentional as it is on both sides. No water inside the car, weatherstripping appears to be installed correctly and the windows were left up for seven days after it was installed. Any ideas?

Weird, never seen that before either. I don't think I have ceramic tint, nor do I drive mine in the rain, but I haven't noticed that on mine. You're right about the hole in the weather stripping being intentional.

Thank you for the confirmation on the hole in the weatherstripping. I just could not remember that detail from when I was shopping around. It is just odd that is occurring on the area that does not touch the weatherstripping. That is what makes me think something happened to the adhesive when the tint was installed.

it like it's stolen
I haven't seen this issue yet on any of the cars we have done before. Now as far as warranty goes they should have rolls of the tint in stock and manufacturer has no say in the matter. If it were our shop we would redo the windows with the issue and go from there. If it were to occur again then I would have to take a close look at the film that was being used because if might be a cheaper brand or there is a chance that there was a bad batch.
