Sadly, that phenomenon exists to lesser degrees everywhere. Texas has a huge problem of fake paper plates. I cannot even count the number of fake paper plate cars I see every single day on the road. But certainly going into some areas, you then start seeing the fake paper plates on cheap ex-rental Chevy Malibus with 26" rims on them, annoying stereos, etc. I mean, dude, there's a place called Rent-a-Tire. https://www.rentawheel.com/ ......... Srsly. You're gonna Aaron's rent-to-own a set of wheels and tires? That's supreme mismanagement of money. Probably welfare/unemployment checks going to make the payments.COVID hit, the effect was interesting. Plethora of new (used) mainly and a lot of new cars flooded the streets. All temp tags, 6 months later. All the cars now was dubbed out. Giant rims, blacked out tint, neon lights under glow etc. 15 inch woofers I swear.
