Looking at the Ford website and the options available. The Performance pack is available on the Ecoboost both auto and manual but when it comes to the GT it is only available on the manual GT but is not on the automatic GT. Why?

There are several threads discussing this subject. In short it is believed Ford put together the packages the way they did to make the 50TH limited edition a little more limited and that some type of performance pack will be available on the automatic in 2016.
The PP on the Ecoboost essentially consists of standard GT parts (brakes, tires, chassis parts, etc) and don't add anything really "new" to the vehicle.
All 50th LE cars come with the PP components, regardless of transmission so the consensus is that we'll see that configuration in 2016.

Ok thanks for the responses. Didn't know this was already covered. Don't want to rehash a question that was already asked. Thanks again.

There's only been 1 built like that. I'm sure if you can find the owner and have enough $$$ you might get it. Otherwise maybe they'll do it in 16.

Because if you want Performance you don't want an Automatic.

Seriously...people just won't get out of that box. :headbonk:

There are use cases for both transmissions, both are fast, both have great performance, both sell very well.

I guarantee that if Ford offered the Performance Package on a GT with an Automatic, it would sell. My preference would be for a GT PP w/auto as well.

As soon as Ford drops an 8 to 10 speed Automatic in the Mustang, they will be the fastest version of the Mustang GT's. That said, there will always be a case/desire for a manual transmission.
