Same here. As much as I love it, I really want the PP/Auto combo. I've had 3 V8 Mustangs now, have never gotten the PP and I want it this time. I would be okay with the manual, I usually prefer it, but then my wife wouldn't be able to drive it if needed.

I want the PP, Auto and Brembos, but DON'T want the gloss black wheels. I really like the look of the 20's, so I'd have to buy them separately and go with that package.

If you just want the gauges and splitter, those items will be available from the aftermarket companies I'm sure, as well as any parts that we don't official know will be included in the PP (brakes, gears, etc.)

But if your looking to race/track this car, the thing to do is to get a manual trans.

Do you plan on racing the car? If so I'd say time to start looking into a manual trans., lol.

Why the need for the auto? (no disrespect intended)
Because the "ol' lady" refuses to learn to drive a manual, and I like a break from driving on long stints on Interstate 5 through the central valley once in a while. That and we end up taking her mommy van :barf: if I can't drive the whole trip. Which has happened after a broken ankle, broken ribs, and a couple times after 2 weeks of working graveyard before we leave.

That and most importantly, she told me I have to, 'cause she wants to drive it too! We'd probably get a Fusion otherwise, OK??? :headbonk:

Depends on the type of racing.

Drag - Def get auto
Auto-x and road - MT-82

I had way too many issues with the manual trans in my 2011. First one failed at 3k miles, second one was notchy and noisy. I then swapped the car to a 6R80 and was much more happy. I will surely be getting the auto.

Teach your wife how to drive a manual. I taught my girlfriend and she went on to purchase a manual of her own.

QFT.

If this is true this may be a deal breaker for me. I want the Brembos, gloss black wheels and front diffuser and gauges in an automatic Triple Yellow. If I can't at least get the gloss black wheels and Brembos with the front diffuser in an automatic I may not be purchasing a Mustang GT at all and checking out the new 485 HP Challenger RT Scat Pack. (Even though it is a fat pig.)

C'mon Ford what the fuck gives?

A performance car then? So get the manual.

Sounds like her loss then. :headbang:

If drag racing were the priority then the Performance Package would be a complete waste. Actually it would make things more difficult especially when trying to mount drag wheels/tires.

Then you swap to a 6R80 like you should have got in the first place

And fall asleep behind the wheel? No thanks. I drive Mercedes AMG nearly everyday and while they have some exciting engines and the worlds best auto transmissions, they are simply boring to drive.

It has paddle shifters right? Even better, shift if you want without a clutch

And when you spend that $7k and the Tremec fails?
:) no kidding and if your running slicks or DRs any tranny can fail at a fairly quick rate.

That being said the old Borg Warner T5 in my 90' drag car held up for 20 years and probably 150 runs at the strip, about half on juice, the other half with a 347 stroker and juice. Lots of fun running my 90' vert....I call it a tin can these days since it's loud as hell and everything squeaks and creeks.

Without getting into the whole auto vs. manual debate… (I DON'T WANT A MANUAL, PERIOD)

Only track mine would see is the local 1/8 mile and maybe the 1/4 mile in St.Louis.

I want gloss black wheels with Triple Yellow. Silver won't do. I don't want to go and pay for aftermarket wheels when I wouldn't have to. And I'm not going to plasti-dip my wheels either. I want the safety and security of the front Brembo brakes, not only at the tail end of my local track where there isn't a long slow-down area and the ability to stop on a dime with all the dipstick drivers in my area. Braking is important to me. I don't want to have to pay thousands of dollars after buying a new vehicle to get these things that I want. I don't want to "settle".

Currently you can get the Brembo brake package on the '14's with the brakes and wheels. I think this would satisfy me if that package were offered with the automatic. But I would still want the gauges and the front splitter. I'm okay with missing out on the 3.55 gears, which would be nice, but since my car will be a 99% DD 1% track car isn't a must. Yet again I don't want to have to pay for something that could have come stock.

I'm not saying it is a deal breaker, but it very well could be unless a Brembo Package with the brakes and wheels isn't offered.

Teach your wife how to drive a manual. I taught my girlfriend and she went on to purchase a manual of her own.
Been there, done that, my friend. She isn't having it. Not to mention that she's not a Mustang fan and is flat out scared of the car. She won't let me have any fun while she's in it and I sure as hell don't want to try and teach her in a 400+ horsepower Mustang.

IF I had someone with an old beater manual that I could borrow and work with her on, I'd do it. But I also wouldn't want her to damage a clutch on someone else's car and me having to pay to replace it. Been there, done that too, with a previous girlfriend way back in the day.

That is not an option. Automatic or nothing.

I just don't get offering it on the 50th edition then "punishing" automatic buyers by not offering something they already make. It does nothing but alienate potential owners like myself.
