Went to the Houston auto show today specifically to drive the 2018 in the ride and drive program. Mustang was a no show.:frusty: Drove the Kia stinger gt2 though. Not a total loss.

I went as well and not a Mustang in sight of the test drive area.

The International Auto Show in Boston had two base 17 Mustangs in the Ford display, no 18s. I gave the young lady in the Ford booth some good natured s$&#. She didn't know why and had been hearing it all day.

Is the Huston Auto Show, run by the local dealers or by the manufacturers?

We have an auto show here where I live, and it is run by the local dealer association. The only vehicles shown, are straight from the dealer's lots.

Judging from the conversations I had with the people working there, the cars are not off the lots.

Its a mix of dealers, manufacturers, and private owners.

It's probably because the Houston Auto show is one of the biggest jokes on the circuit. I'll go once every five years to see if they've upped their game and they never do. A lack of Mustangs is unacceptable in this market unless they just figured they owned Houston anyways.

Exhibits are lame, too many trucks, not enough new product rollouts or big releases. The whole event has the clammy feel of the Texas State Auto Dealers Association on it.

Detroit, Miami are where you want to hit domestically. I've heard Vegas and LA is good as well but I've never been to either of those.

Geneva is the best globally but I understand the Tokyo auto show although very different but just as amazing.

I mean can you blame them? Texas is the truck capital of the world. And new product launches almost always happen at Detroit, LA, Paris, and Tokyo.

I went to an auto show in San Jose, CA last year. I talked to the guys reping GM and while I was driving the Camaro they told me they're third party people commissioned by GM. So these cars aren't coming from dealers directly.
