Thanks Yuma! It’s a Bob’s ultimate kit. It’s awesome, even naturally aspirated these cars need one. After around 2k miles NA, many of which spirited, it had 2-3 tablespoons in it. Intake passage dry as a bone.

On the d/s I added the UPR clean side separator to remove any chance of oil finding it’s way to the intake under boost.

Another week, another wet weekend and no driving. Finished config of the ngauge, set up datalogging and replaced the rear 1" wheel adapters with 0.8". The 295/35/19's stuck out just a bit too much. Smaller adapter looks much better, will post pics soon.

Heat wave incoming (40* plus!), maybe even 50's by the weekend! Might be able to get the halfshafts & diff bushings done at a shop that rents lift time. Hoping all the snow is melted and it's dry, the suspense is killing me!

It is worth the wait! We have had the weather clear here finally with some O.K. temps, consistently getting mid 120's trap speeds on the in-dash even with not being able to use 1st or part of 2nd.

Good info, thank you! Are you planning a trip to a track soon? I'm concerned about going to 5th in the 1/4 which I believe is inevitable. Already looking at a 3.31 gear swap in the near future.

Yes. Our track opens on the 29th, and I plan to make a few passes. Going to be pretty 'slow' for a Whipple car though as I have stock size Nitto NT05's out back (255's), so not near enough traction to use what power the car has now. I'm going to upgrade the shafts to the 350 units this weekend for some safety personally. Hoping for 11 anything in the 1/4, but hard to say until I get a feel for the setup on the strip, and assuming the track is there being the first race of the year.

Awesome, keep us posted. Should get into the 11's easily I think, even on those tires.

Our local track opens 4/3, I'm targeting end of April early May due to work travel and other life stuff. Hoping I have enough to sneak into the 10's.

Answered this in a PM, but will again here for anyone else wondering.

UPR doesn’t sell the d/s CSS portion of the whipple kit on its own. I emailed their general sales support and they were quick to respond and very helpful. They created a custom order and had it sent out to me the same day.

Order form from UPR:
MISC. ITEM
15-17 MUSTANG GT WHIPPLE
SUPERCHARGED CLEAN SIDE SEPARATOR KIT
JUST THE CSS PORTION OF THE 5030-133-CSS KIT

FINALLY! After a few weeks of waiting for some decent weather, today was the first drive. Cool day, ~50*.

- Part throttle drivability is fantastic. Ran some errands, sat in a some traffic, light to light, it was mint. I was fearful that there would be some issues (stumbling, hesitation, etc.) due to the stock TB, but it was smooth as could be on the Whipple tune. Extremely happy about that.

- I did some datalogging on two runs up to 6k just to check before running it all the way up to 7.2k. One in third, one in fourth. Third gear pull broke loose at ~60mph (fun stuff), I peddled and stayed in it. :) Fourth gear pull was clean 3-6k. Logged both and data looks pretty solid. Boost 9-11psi, Knock ~0-.25, spark 18-20*, lambda .76-.82 (11.2-12 AFR), STFT 4-5, LTFT 0, FPDC never went above 50%. ECT 194, IAT 57, IAT2 dropped from 97 to 88 during the pull (I know IAT2 on whipple tune isn't 100% accurate).

- I did log ETC_DSD and ACT (throttle control desired & actual), they were both 83% throughout the run. I'm wondering why it wasn't 100% and if that has something to do with flight control. If anyone has any info on that, please share.

I haven't made ANY changes to flight control. As it sits octane adjust is off, everything else is still on as it came.

Overall, pulls pretty hard, looking forward to a full row through the gears up to 7k. Had too much other stuff going on today to do more. :(

You can turn knock reduction off in the tune and probably gain some timing. Whipple themselves recommend this to the point that I don’t know why the tune ships with it enabled. The car can still pull timing if needed but it won’t be needlessly aggressive.

I'd say this weekend was the first REAL drive. Logged some 7.2K hits in 3rd and 4th. Logs looked clean, very pleased. Both Octane Adj. and Knock Limiting were turned off, all other Whipple factory flare settings left as is. 93 octane up here is pretty good and I felt comfortable with these settings after reviewing logs.

For those interested in hearing about the 103.1" belt w/ 3.75" pulley. Auto tensioner is between 9-10, it's moved a little for sure as it's closer to 9 than it was before. Adjustable idler still sitting at 90%, I never moved it after install.

It was 55* yesterday, but the roads are still pretty cold. I gotta say, after a little warmup the Michelin pilot SS's hook pretty good stabbing 2nd gear and grabbing 3rd. I was impressed.

I swapped out the rears for the 28x11.5 MT ET R bias plys and went from a 1st gear 10mph roll. I've driven 400-500whp cars before, but this thing is just bananas! The MT's gripped like crazy and launched the car so f'n hard. Sh*t comes at you fast man, glad I have a shift light. Anyway, beyond impressed with the car, it obviously feels like a monster. After some seat time it felt more comfortable, but damn it pulls like a freight train, especially up top.

How is the setup treating you? Any issues? So far so good out here. Track still isn't open yet though, so no ET's yet for me.

Going to Dyno on the 20th, hoping for 550-600 but with only a stage 1 kit/std intercooler and 91 I'm thinking more around the 550 mark.

Hey man, treating me well. Did some normal driving around since the last post, all is well. Track is open here but due to some vaca time and business travel in April I likely won’t make it there until sometime in May. Still need to schedule lift time to install axles and BMR diff bushings.

Let me know how you do on the dyno! I’m not-so-secretly hoping to put down just over 600 w/ good 93, we’ll see. Not sure when I’ll get there, need to setup an appointment soon.

Just wanted to add a little info for those looking to run a vacuum/boost reference. On both sides of the lower intake of the Whipple there are 1/8" NPT plugs. I removed the drivers side plug (above cylinder 3) and used a Legris 31095611 90° degree elbow, 1/4" Tube OD x 1/8" NPT male (link below) and standard 1/4" black tube. This lets you aim the tube towards the firewall keeping it clean/hidden and allowing an easy run into the d/s wheel well and into the cabin through the factory rubber grommet (rubber nipple located on grommet, cut it off, poke the tube through).

I can't believe it's been just over 3 months since my last post. I've been traveling quite a bit and barely driven the car. Unfortunately I have another 2 months of travel before I can really do anything. Probably for the best I guess, it's now summer and hot as hell, better to wait until the fall to hit the track. Only thing I did was create my own custom sound tube to pull a little more whine into the cabin. Definitely an improvement while not being overly obnoxious. It's also very well hidden, used the stock sound tube hole in the firewall and doesn't congest up the engine bay. Once I have some sound clips I'll throw it up in the DIY section and put a link here for anyone interested.
