Which oil to run with e85?

I was thinking about switching to 0w-40 European formula made in Germany. Will change oil every 3k. I am running e85 and 350 Manny with higher revs.

I would stick to factory recommended specs and just do like you said and change more frequent

I run Quaker State ultimate durability 5w30 simply for its ridiculous performance at high temps. I am flex tuned.

And it's 21 bucks per 5 quarts.

Amsoil is 23 on the list. Wonder if I should change. Pretty good psi protection on it though. Also curious what to run with flex fuel since I'm changing. If the amsoil is supposed to last 25k miles. I would switch at 7500 or when light came on. Is that to late?

I wouldn't worry about it. If you like it use it. But there are others that are cheaper with better protection.

Well I get it at whole sale so it's about the same price as mobil 1. From what I can see mobil 1 full synthetic and pennzoil with the prolong additive had good results. I've never used pro long before. I thought it was one of those "as seen on tv" deals

The artical does state he doesn't recommend additives and has no data over a longer period of time. Could possibly be problems after some miles.0

Just noticed that. Idk maybe stick with amsoil for now since it got ride of my noisy valve train when cold.

Whatever you choose change it more often. Also try to avoid short trips where the car doesn't get up to full operating temp. E85 has a lot of moisture in it that won't burn off on short runs. Nothing terrible will happen but your oil will get dirty faster.

I wouldn't worry about which oil as long as you are using a top one (I like AMSOIL SS myself), but what I would worry about is drain and fill intervals. I think depending on how the car is driven that 3-5K miles between oil changes is a nice medium for most people. Of course if your Mustang is low mileage or a weekend cruiser then throw mileage out the window and change it based on time.

Lots of guys running E85 24/7, but for what it is worth Ford recommends if you only run E85 that every time you change your oil you run one full tank of 91/93.
