I tried ignite, renegade, and vp. I didn’t see any big difference in my dyno or track results. Unless you’re a max effort guy it’s not really worth it if you have access to consistent pump e85. In Ohio we only get true e85 about 6-8 months out of the year
I've had good luck with all 3. I don't believe VP is worth the premium price. At least it wasn't worth it to me. I like ignite and I'm using it almost exclusively now. It is a little harder to light in cold weather. My tuner had to make some adjustments for cold starts.
Store the drums on a...
Nothing out there for the new cars that I am aware of. Fwiw I don't love my comp blower cams. I would spend that money differently if I had it to do over.
Stock is fine and should get you to your goal. That's what's in my mpr shortblock and it makes 1krwhp with the whipple. If it's an all out race deal you could consider 11.5 or 12 to 1 with custom cams etc. That will give more ultimate hp, but it will narrow your tuning window and not be as...
It's a bastard thread size. I added a catch can with a brass 90 from napa in that hole. Added some thread sealant and forced enough of the npt threads in there for it to seal. (Can't remember exact size, but it's pipe thread) My thought is the brass fitting is softer than the whipple material so...
Mantic twin disc would be my choice if I had it to do over. Rxt did fine for me, but the mantic is easier on the trans.
Stay 3.31. Be careful on the radials. Wheel hop can break a lot of stuff. Don't ask me how I know that.
I have always been happy with my fore stuff. A twin pump would cover...
Who did the work ? Did they get the pinion preload perfect ? What did the pattern look like when they set it up ? Is it just a kinda quiet whine at highway speeds , or is it loud and constant ?
Why do you want the bb upgrade ? The journal bearing does fine for most folks. Unless you're doing a max effort deal, need the absolute best in throttle response, or plan on a lot of two step and drag action the bb isn't a necessity imo.
I am one of the few that actually liked my mt82. It held 730rwhp for two years even with the "wrong" clutch. I then destroyed a calimer stage 2 at 875 tire. Ben warned me it was iffy at that level. Went to a 6060 and that seems to be just fine at 1000rwhp.
I street on 28x10.5x15 mt slicks on beadlocks. They are a real treat when you get caught in the rain. They work great from a dig though.
My 305/35r20 et street SS will hook from second gear out if you air down a little and get them warm. This a 1000rwhp whipple car with a 6060 swap and 373 gearing.
No scientific data but I can tell you my experience with both. I think ignite red is the best bang for the buck. I have dynoed my car on pump, c-85, and ignite with my whipple and my results were almost identical between ignite and c85. It was a remote tune so it's possible we didn't get every...
