Is it safe to run E54 on E85 tune? I want to avoid going back to the flex fuel tune. Just want to know of it's an option to stay on E85 tune when the one gas station that sells full E85 is out. Please no theories. Thanks.

Definitely not worth the risk. Where are you getting e85 out here in az? Are you testing it when you fill up? A lot of pumps out here say e85 even though it's only 54%.

NO! When you find a place that has 85 Ethanol or better, fill up some extra cans to have on hand. Best to always test before you fill your car.

VP X85 fuel is always my back up in early spring, until my local gas stations get in the summer blend of E85. Winter blend tests about 79% in Michigan.

Val Vista and Broadway Chevron. Tests at E85. They even have testers inside store.

Not really, no. If you stay out of the throttle you won't hurt anything, but I wouldn't run anything less than ~75% ethanol on a straight E85 tune.

I do store 2 gallons at a time but it might time to buy big drums. Phoenix is mostly flex fuel 51%-54%. One spot only has E85 and test at E85.

I wouldn't even chance running anything below E80 on an E85 only tune.
Is there a reason you don't want to run a Flex tune?

Simply put, E85 is more fun and more power down low and didn't want go back and forth on tunes if I didn't have to.

I know what you mean, the power of E85 is very addictive. Still, I wouldn't chance it. Swapping tunes doesn't take that long.

I would think E54 would just run more rich versus E85. Normal driving non wot probably ok.

It's not so much the AFRs, but what could be damaging is the timing.

A pure E85 tune assumes certain octane, and thus delivers rather aggressive timing ramp up and overall. If you're running a lower octane fuel (E54) with aggressive timing for a higher octane fuel then you could be causing some damage.
