Hey everyone ! I want to get everyone's opinion.

Currently have a 2017 ecoboost base with 70k miles and have positive equity.

A dealership near me has a 2018 GT base stock with a bunch of swirl marks they said they can detail out... with 30k miles priced at 35k

Also a 2016 GT premium, aftermarket rims, and dual tip corsa exhaust (which sounded AMAZING) and a rear carbon fiber diffuser and comes with a stock airbox and an extra open air intake (didn't look for the brand I forgot to) With 40k miles priced at 32k.

Both are automatic which is fine with
me.

What would you choose?? I'm honestly fine with both since they have half the miles my current car has PLUS its a v8. Just don't know if going to a 2016 premium is worth it vs the 2018 just because of the mods on it that I would honestly do eventually but would save me money buying it with all that done to it already.

I'd probably go with the '18, but it's overpriced. I didn't pay 35k for my '19 brand new. The used market is jacked right now
Amen to that. Dealer by me has a base 2020 GT with 22k miles and accident history for $46k.

People are out of their minds

No way I'd pay that for either one of them used. I recently paid 36k for my new 2020 gt 301a a10 car. I usually look for lightly used cars but the way the market is you might as we'll buy new. This used car market is ridiculous.

I think the most I would pay for a used 2016 GT premium with 40k miles and the mods that are on it would probably be 28k$ max. I texted the guy and told him and he never replied lol

I went thru the exact same situation in fall. The prices are what they are. I was lucky to find private sale for 16 GT Premium 31k for 27000. I determined I wanted a 16 or 17 premium over a base 18. The premium is nice. I trust the reliability of the Gen 2 motor and trans better and I really don't like the 18 front. Since then I've done a manual activated 18 active exhaust and a great tune from VMP with an 18 air box added. Very happy with the results so far.

I love in Los angeles/san bernardino county in California. Prices aren't as cheap as other states at the moment

That's kinda pricey for a 16 with 40k miles. I got mine for way cheaper than that with lower miles.

Buy out of state?
I'd rather not because then I have to pay sales tax to the DMV when I register it and I won't be able to include that sales tax with my loan through my credit union so I'd have to fork up 2-3k out of pocket
