I just got an email from a VA dealer who promises "not to be beat this weekend by any competitor" - any website quote (they can verify) etc and they'll beat it. My buddy is leaving shortly to go look at this '18 GT Premium 6 speed with 401A. First 401A car I've seen without a ton of other options.

That's pretty close to mine, just I got the shaker and the Recaros, and didn't get the premium wheels

Also, to share, I'm paying about $6k under sticker for my car, and I custom ordered it (so no significant dealer discounts). and my sales tax will be 6.5%, so ill be paying close to an extra $3k OTD... Now, it's been a while since I bought a car in the states, and I've never bought one in Texas. Any Texans in here that know how much tags and title are in the state?
This is what I dealt with on my recent 2018 purchase:

Most dealers charge "dealer's inventory tax" that is a statutory ad-valorem tax -- probably about $80 or so; I'm not sure if it varies by county. In addition, there is state inspection -- about $7, and, I paid a "documentary fee" that was $149 to get the car titled and license plates. This was all in Harris County.

BTW, I thought Texas sales tax was 6.25%?

Your dealer should be supplying all of this up front so there are no "surprises" when you pick it up.............?

Excellent, thank you!

I'm ordering it through an outsourced company and they're having it sent to the dealership in Texas, which is where I'll pay TTL and any other fees. They won't charge documentation or dealer inventory fees, just whatever is required to get the car registered in TX. It probably is 6.25%, I probably just got it mixed up haha
