I am putting speaker boxes in back seat. Where is best place to mount the amp in a convertible?

This is where mine went too. Then I have my JL Sub Box velcro'd in the back so I can remove if needed
Yeah I went with JL in-car speakers and the JL stealth box. Been happy, it won't beat your head against the windshield, but I didn't really want that,

I don't know how the convertible is laid out... But I tucked my amp (JL HD1200) in the back corner, and made a little stand for the second battery (XS Xp750) in the spare tire well.

Do you guys with aftermarket Subs notice that most songs are too much base? I have to turn my aux sub volume knob almost all the way down.

You likely have the gain on your sub amp set too high.
On my system it is balanced very well. This creates the opposite problem to what you are experiencing. For 90% of the music I listen to it is perfect but some of the music is lacking in bass and I need turn UP my sub level by 3 to 5db for those tracks.

So just turn down my gain on the amp?

Yep. A little a time until you find the bass is not overpowering. Then listen to a bunch of tracks to see how it sounds.

Not mine. I mean the one JL Audio stealth box is not meant for banging anyways. It sounds good, just adds bass, but I also replaced my in-car speakers too. Probably would have hit a little harder if I had gone with a traditional box, but I like the fact I have use of my entire trunk with the stealth box out of the way and the amps and xovers hidden down in the tire well.

I am building a system that is full range. Dual 10 inch skar mid woofer and skar 4 inch tweeters. Most likely put the box in back seat for know. The amp will be a rockford fosgate 2 channel amp.
I know the speakers will be ugly in back seat. Future plans are a rear seat delete and the area the seat took up will be the speaker.
