Hello,
Wondering if someone can put up a picture of where they hooked the positive/negative 12v wires for an amp. Guessing under hood, positive onto one of the posts in the fuse box, negative to a ground somewhere??

ALWAYS connect amps directly to the battery for +. Wire going to fuse box is sized for those electronics only. Ground to metal near the amp. Check out Car Audio Fabrication on YouTube to learn what to do.

+ needs to be on the battery terminals which you can do in the stang

- needs to be the shortest wire distance possible to reduce line losses. My amp is mounted on the back of the rear fold down seat, and the ground is the bolt that is between the fold down seats, youll have to sand down the paint to get to bare metal for best connection

My amps are located in the spare tire well, and for ground I used bolt under the right rear bottom seat bolster.

Thanks for the replies. I was going off memory and thought the way the mustangs battery cables attached to the battery there wasn't a way to connect to them. Good to hear there is, so that's what I'll do. Probably mount the amp in the rear spare tire area and go to a ground stud in there for the negative connection.
Thanks again.

Power always to the battery, Surprisingly running your negative all of the way to the battery is also a good option. Many times your resistance will be lower going directly to the source, as opposed to grounding to the body and having the ground flow through the body to sub frame to battery. Also less chance of creating a ground loop by completing the circuit.

But as others have said what grounding points work for them they will be fine you will still get a solid ground. People have been grounding to seatbelt bolts and seat bolts for the longest time, so it does work great for an everyday system. On the other hand if you competed IASCA IQC and I judged you, I would not give full points unless you proved that was the best grounding point.

Thanks for that, nope, no judging in my future. Funny you mentioned that, I have my amp connected directly to my battery in my Jeep, it's doubtful anyone would even let that in the parking lot of a competition, but it sounds great to me, lol.

I ran the 12v battery lead down the passenger side, through the firewall with the AC harness (passenger side) and up under/into the battery box.
