So I just got my new wheels and tires, and needed them mounted. Ended up at the dealer, and ended up being told by some smart-ass technician that putting aftermarket wheels/tires will completely void my entire warranty. His explanation? That the cars gearing, suspension, transmission and engine is not "set up for them" and will cause them to break. Apparently they can't even change my oil because I would have 19 inch wheels. He told me and I quote, "If you put these on your car, don't be bringin' the car back here if something ever breaks, I'm warnin' ya now".

I proceeded to laugh and leave

Wow, what a misinformed technician! He should be forced to read the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act.

Are you sure he wasn't messing with you. As absurd and moronic as the statement, "If you put these on your car, don't be bringin' the car back here if something ever breaks, I'm warnin' ya now". sounds, he may have been kidding.

I would have asked for the manager and threat to cancel extended warranty if
I bought one and also threat to bring my business and friends and family's business elsewhere. That tech should be written up for making such claim potentially turning off future sales and service customers.
