Do you guys know of any reliable companys that widen wheels?

I quite like the look of my wheels but I'd like to get them widened to 11-12 inches wide in the rear.

Weldcraft. Only place I would trust.

Make sure you post what it look like done. I'd love a set of those for my LE.

I was wondering the same thing except I'm not sure if it can be done. They can't change the offset so the only direction the tire can go is in towards the wheel well. I would invest in this if they could bring the tire out of the wheel well to be flush with the fenders.

Yup, for one piece wheels they can only give you more inboard.

I went with widened steelies on my Vic, as that gave me the option to adjust offset as well.

These are 17x9 +5mm offset with 275/45/17. They have some pretty killer barrel lips. :)

You would need to run spacers (adapters) to get widened wheels to fit correctly after adding 1-2" in width. If you used good bolt on hubcentric adapters, it would be fine. But add that to the cost to the widening and decide if it is worth it compared to aftermarket rims.

That crown vic is sick!

Oh man you ain't lying.

Every now and then someone get something unusual and uncool just so perfectly right that the cocky factor goes through the roof. That Vic is one.

That was one of the thing I was considering, but I still think overall it'd be cheaper to get them widened, and add spacers.

I'd only have to buy spacers+the cost of widening the wheel, vs 4 new wheels at ~400 a piece.

I think you'll be surprised how expensive it's gonna be. Don't forget the shipping cost both ways. Aftermarket rims will be cheaper.

Thanks guys. It's been a work in progress. To me, the only wheels that make sense on a Crown Vic are steelies with the center caps. Too many guys do Mustang wheels and it just looks ridiculous to me. And since mine is before they went rack and pinion, I could have crazy offsets.

You can see just how deep they are, LOL.

What's funny to me is I still get more people talking to me about the Crown Vic than the Mustang. Old guys LOVE that car for some reason, haha.

For sure. I am in the widened steelies on the Vic well over $1300. Shipping was ROUGH!!!!!! It costs damn near as much to ship them as it did to actually have them widened.

Eric Vaughan Machine. (Google this)

95% of the guys that had their Shelby Alcoa wheels widened went with him.

Do your research vs Eric Vaughan vs Weldcraft.

Then you can decide. It costs about $300 a wheel to widen plus shipping.
