I have spent 2 hours searching for info because I didn't want to waste your guy's time. Couldn't find this info. 20"x 9" 42.5 offset OEM wheel widened to 11" on back. 2017 Mustang GT. Is there enough inboard space to fit? With or without Spacers?
Thank you.

I think that’ll be 1/2” too wide to the inside. Widen it 1.5” and you should be okay. This comparison is approximate (your poke won’t change from the left column unless you add spacers).

On 20x11 wheels, 50 is the highest offset I’ve seen people run and it puts the inset number around 190mm toward the suspension. That said, on 19x11.5” wide wheels I know 56 offset (around 202mm inset) also just barely fits but does work.

I’m thinking that the shape of the wheel well narrows (or there is some other impediment in there) and running taller wheels (with possibly taller tires) means you have 10mm less room with 20’s vs 19’s, but that’s just a guess.

If I’m wrong about that issue in the wheel well, with your offset, you may be able to widen 1.8” before hitting that 202mm distance into the wheel well.

This pic from willtheyfit.com shows your current wheel on the left and that same wheel widened to 11” on the right.

Another option would be to widen to 11” and then run a 1/2” spacer to push the wheel back away from the suspension.

Ok thx for the feedback. Exactly what I was looking for. With 42.5 offset I'll have enough room to bump the wheel out with a small spacer. Don't like the idea of using them but that's a whole 'nother topic. Thx. again.

There may be some good info in this thread for you.
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/2017-california-special-wheels.80017/
It relates to widening 19 x 8.5 x 42.5 offset wheels out to 10.5 and whether or not there is rubbing, some good pix of the finished product, and whether you can go wider than 10.5 or not. I know you have 20 x 9's, but this might help, along with the good info from OhThatGuy. In a nutshell, from what I have gained from this thread, is that 10.5 is really about the widest you can go by going inboard, without rubbing or spacers, and a 20mm spacer might set the wheel and tire out to far to poke. With that info in hand, I have 2 19 X 8.5 GT/CS wheels in getting widened right now at Weldcraft out to 10.5. Hopefully you live close to the wheel widener, just the shipping for 2 wheels both ways is costing me around 400 bux. I've already bought the 305/35/19 Nittos. I would do a Michelin if they made that size in a A/S3 or AS/3+ as it rains here in the PNW, but they dont. Good luck!

Yes the guy is local to me. Place called WheelTech in Surrey British Columbia. He's been doing this for 30 years so I think I'm in good hands.
I'll just tell him to widen 1.5". As long as I can fit a 305/35/20 I'll be happy. And this way if I have to use a spacer it will be very narrow I believe. Good info on this site. Thx guys girls etc

I’m getting a set of OEM 20x9.5 forged wheels with tires from an unrelated brand, having the center bores redrilled to the mustang size then sending to Weldcraft to widen to 11.25”. With a 10mm spacer, it should put them centered in the wheelwell.

What is the offset on those wheels?
I will probably wait to see what clearance I will get before buying spacers if I even have to. My guy says you also lose the thickness of the blade during the cut. I don't know what size the bands come in yet either. Will definitely post pics. Be good for the next guy who's doing this.

These are 20x9.5 offset 45. Weldcraft seems to widen in .25” increments.

I sent in my Niche rear wheels 20x10 35 offset to Weldcraft for 2" so 12" wide with 315/30 20 NT555 G2's. They testing I did shoed they will clear my suspension and inner wheel wells easy. Closest spot was the rear shock mount with .25" to spare but I got the Steeda rear mounts that give another .25" clearance so should be plenty. I'll have the Wheels back Thursday and the tires in 10 days so 2 weeks before actual test fit. I'll post up my results and pics here.

Sounds like with 35 offset you'll have enough tuck to use a spacer if needed? Wow if a 12" fits I'll have no problem 10 7/8". Please show results when finished.

My Niche Vicenza Wheels arrive today widened 2" by Weldcraft, total 12" wide now. I must say Robert at Weldcraft really gave awesome service and timing on this. I didn't read their direction completely for sending them in and left the TPS sensor in and they asked for them to be taken of first. Also was supposed to use a box that they could fit the wheels once widened for return and I didn't. Not a problem, they shipped them both separate in new boxes with TPS sensors for reinstall and didn't charge extra. The work looks really nice and I'll be doing some sanding and painting of the bare metal before tire mounting and install.
