I torqued my lugs, provided by Paul @pkauto, to 148 last night. Haven't driven on the wheels yet but it appears they can handle the factory specs. Honestly me snugging them up with my breaker bar alone got them really close to factory spec and just to the touch it felt right. I'm not a huge strong guy either lol. Oh and these lugs are on Velgen VMB5s if it matters.
Thank you for sharing brotha.

I have the same one...amazon right?
Yup! That, a 1/2" drive 24" breaker bar (the "Dom Turetto special") and a set of drive adapters for $100! Steal!

I don't need this wrench, but I want it :headbang: My 100 ft/lb wrench doesn't really cut it anymore.

Jeebus, you'd think this discussion was about God or politics. LOL. BTW, my Focus ST had the exact same wheel studs on it, and you know what the factory specified torque was? 100 lb-ft. For what it's worth. ;)
Focus uses 12mm studs which are smaller than 1/2" which are smaller than 14mm. Torque the Mustang OEM 14mm studs to 148-150 and have no issues. The only broken wheel studs we have seen have been from loose wheels. I torque the 1/2" ARP's to 120 because the material they are made from creates the proper stretch.

Focus uses 12mm studs
If we were out at a bar, I would have lost the bet on that one. Went and looked it up, and you are correct. First time I've ever been wrong - just don't tell my wife.

did anybody consider that the nuts supplied by the aftermarket manufacturer may be made out of a different quality steel and would fail at 148/150 ft/lbs.
If that is the case, then I would consider such lugs to be defective because they are not able to be used properly on the setup. If the studs recommend 150lbs and the wheels can take 150lbs, but then they are given cheap lugs that only can handle 100lbs then that's not right.

Instead of them telling customers to severely under-torque the wheels because their shit products will fail, they should provide parts that will handle the torque and load requirements of the car they are designed for.

I don't know, we include lug nuts with some of our studs kits and the they sell for less than $1.00 each and have no issues being torqued to spec.
I'm not saying yours are bad, or anyone else specifically.

But if a certain wheel manufacturer/vendor that includes lug nuts with their products and then limits your torque to just 100 simply because those nuts cannot handle anymore than that is a crap product and should not be sold or marketed for 15+ Mustangs.

It's like buying tires...you get ones that are specifically made and rated for your application. You don't buy light passenger car tires for your F350 dually.

In the same vane, you don't buy wheels/lugs that are not able to meet the specific rating setforth by the manufacturer of the car. If a wheel/lug cannot handle more than 100lb of torque then they don't belong on a Mustang that calls for 150lbs. Of course this all changes if you have different sized studs like ARPs, but I believe this discussion is based around the stock spindle/studs.

If I may our lugs we provide dont fail at 150 lbs so you can torque them there. Just saying
