So a few weeks back I installed a some BMR suspension to improve my cars performance, unfortunately there is one drawback. I installed BMR SP080 springs, TCA048 vertical links, CB010 cradle lock out, and CB762 IRS braces, overall the car feel tight especially on the windy backroads the issue is my car is now wheel hopping and I’m at a loss I’ve double checked the install and everything looks good the alignment is all in spec. Anyone else run into a similar issue ? I debating on if I should do the toe link bushing upgrade or some Viking shocks, My car is a 18 GT PP1.

Interesting. I have just about the same set up at you. The only thing I see different is I have the BK081 RLCA bearings and diff bushings.

Maybe you’re getting it from the low control arms?

I ran mine for a weekend without the LCA bearings and just the CB005, TCA048 and CB762 and didnt feel any hop.

Did you have it aligned after install?

Yes I drove it about 500 miles to let the new springs settle then checked the torque on everything and an alignment afterwards everything is with in spec

man that’s a weird one then.

would you be interested in changing the diff bushings and RLCA bearings?

Did you clock the suspension bushings after your lowering spring installation?

No when I installed everything I lowered the whole cradle, so I didn’t touch anything on the knuckle other then the vertical links. The only bolts I removed were the four main cradle bolts and upper shock mount bolts.

What tires are you running and what are the ambient temps? Does this happen on all roads or just your “test” area?

At time when I installed everything we were storing in the low to mid 40’s and I was on the stock pilot sport 4’s. Since then I switched wheels and I’m now on 325/30/19’s Indy 500’s. It happens everywhere any road surface.

Cold high performance summer tires can certainly be part of the problem. I suggest reevaluating when the temps are 50F+ before adding more parts—double check that tire pressures (at the tire) are allowing a flat contact patch to the ground.

I bet you something is still moving with the rear suspension. I Have a '17GT pp and couldn't stand how rubberbandish the rear suspension felt. I have installed Steeda Sport springs, LCA spherical bearings, BMR cb005 Cradle lockout kit, steeda sub frame alignment kit, Steeda 555-4440 aluminum bushing inserts, BMR-TCA046 vertical links. I STILL get wheel hop. I've tried different tires too. It is less than before but is still there. I'm thinking either people have never tried doing a burnout in their s550 Mustang or always drive when its raining.

I can't believe some have wheel hop and some don't. I'm starting to think its the heavy stock wheels.

I never have wheel hop on the street. Just at the track with radials. Some M/T 3574's bias plys on a 17" wheel set @ 18 psi cured that real fast. No suspension mods needed. I'm also a MT-82 guy haha.

Well I can tell you it’s not the wheels I just put on some P51’s RF101’s which weigh in at 21LBS each wheel and I’m still hoping the factory PP wheels weigh 33 LBS. I’m thinking some Viking shocks will help with how adjustable they are there has to be a setting that will improve the wheel hop issue

My Foxbody will do burnouts all day any tire any surface and never hop.

Build some decent power and see what happens. J/K buddy. I'm sure the live axle had a lot to do with controlling the hoppity hop.

I remember taking my car for a test drive when I bought it. I thought something was broken in the rear end because it would buck/bounce when letting out the clutch. Just felt like a lot of rubber flexing. They assured me everything was good.? I guess going from a live axle to independent suspension is going to take some getting used to. Not a big fan right now. I've been feeling out the car and doing a little drifting. I feel much safer drifting my '86GT than my'17.
