I have a 2020 Mustang GT Premium 401a package and I had a few questions regarding wheels and tires.

So first of all, I was wondering if a 20x9.5 wheel with 285 wide tires would fit the front of my Mustang? Or will there be rubbing issues? It is a non PP.

Additionally, is there much of a difference in wheelspin, grip and acceleration between 20 inch wheels and 19 inch wheels? I'm going to be picking up some RTR tech wheels soon and was wondering if the 19 or 20 have any benefits or drawbacks over each other.

Thanks!

If it's a wheel designed for the S550 with the correct offset, then yes that will easily fit. People put on much wider wheels with no issues.

You need to know the offset, current & proposed. Offset sets everything into motion on wheel fitment besides wheel width and tire size.

I would say the 285 is pushing the width limit on a 9.5" wheel. Will they fit, yep they should. If you aren't drag racing, there probably would not be much noticable difference in the areas you listed between the 20" and the 19". Now the big question, is which tires are you planning to put on the car? That will be a big deciding factor on those areas.

I run 285/35r20 on 20x10 +35 wheels with no issues. 285 is a tad wide for 9.5” wide wheels but not terrible. 275 is the better fit for 9.5” wheels. You can run 275/35r20 all day long with no issues.

you should have no problem, I just put stock gt350 rims on my base gt which in the front is 10.5" rim, 295 tire, +30mm offset and I can get my index finger between the inside tire and the strut, plenty of room.

30 profile is approaching rubber band status. Get 35 profile tires. And don't screw around and just get 10" wide wheels in et35 or more. And while you're at it a min of -1.7deg of camber.
