It’s easy. Just gotta contort your lower arm to insert the new filter in and then screw back the screw. Made a difference in my cabin’s smell with the A/C after replacing.

I'vee only got 1000 miles so I'm sure filter is clean.what I don't know is if the screw is missing.maybe filter has slipped down a bit and I'm getting unfiltered air, which is bypassing the filter.recently I've noticed exhaust smell on starting the car in morning.thkughts?? U

Oh then yeah, 1,000 miles should be near-new. A good mark is changing it around every 10k miles, that’s what I’ve done.

As for the screw and if it’s missing, how to access the filter housing is: pop open your glove box, pinch the two arms together that hold the glovebox in place and the glovebox will drop down further. Then peel back the carpet cutout and you will see the black plastic filter housing. The screw is mounted upward and you use a T-20 screwdriver to screw/unscrew it. That’s where you’ll see if it’s missing or not. After unscrewing you remove the lid (bottom side) of the filter housing and access the filter.
