I understand the different looks between V6, EB And GT but it sounds like there's two specialty versions? A Limited Edition and a 50th appearance package? Is that right? Are those V8s only and what is what and has which grille?
I'm starting to really like the pony in corral with the addition horizontal chrome bar across the width. Can someone post a pic of each version?

The 50 year limited edition is a GT performance pack fastback with most everything standard. It's the only one available in wimbledon white or kona blue and has unique 19 inch wheels, louvered quarter windows and cashmere
inserts in the interior. The 1,964 units are numbered and signed by Bill Ford.

The appearance pack is available on all models and comes with a different 19x8.5 inch wheel, the same grille as the limited edition and a faux gas cap.

The Limited Editions is the only specialty version. The 50th Appearance pack is just that an appearance pack paying tribute to the 50th and the LE.

The Appearance packs can be chosen with any exterior color EB/GT but if you add the performance pack it will over ride things like the rims and dash. 50th AP comes with
-Corral Grill
-chrome taillight trim
-white cashmere stitching
-all black seats with 50th logo and running pony.
-smaller painted 50th rims
-special dash badge
-50th faux gas cap on rear

The 50th Limited Editions

-only 1964 being made
-Separate production model from standard GT (P8C) /LE (P8R)
-Exclusive Kona Blue or Wimbeldon White
-louvered glass rear quarter Windows
-Matching Vehicle sequence number and VIN
-50th dash badge with sequence number
-cashmere door and seat inserts/two tone white and black
-chrome surround around side windows
-GT only
-the only automatic that can have the Performance Pack equipped.
- LE rims
- special dash pattern
- leather bound service manual with 50th badge
-plus the exterior corral grill, chrome taillight surround. Faux rear gas badge
-loaded except for rain sense wipers, ACC and backup sensors.
-also I believe it's the only car to receive an upsized Front sway bar.

Kona Blue

Two Tone seats with cashmere inserts

It seems like any LEs left are 10k+ over MSRP or the dealer will be having people bid on them. Tim found I think one for $7500 over MSRP.

Sometimes I wish the manufacturer would put like a 10% limit for dealerships increasing the price of their cars over MSRP. So crazy.

If I read the order guide right you have the premium package in order to get the 50th Anniversary Appearance pack. Has anyone ordered a base GT w/50th Anniversary Appearance pack? I wanted to order a GT this way but doesn't look like it can be done.

That is insane. I don't see why anyone would want an LE at that kind of markup. An eventual BOSS/GT350 addition will probably come in close to that. I would guess maybe 7-10k over a loaded GT. The LE is all fluff stuff.

Just a thought :I love the louvered glass but with so few cars being built, I bet if you had to replace that window it would be crazy expensive. I really like the bright surround, that looks really tasteful and accents the roof line really well. Reminds me of when I was restoring my 68 and trying not to bend or wrinkle the chrome trim taking it off. Wonder if that will be available as an add on. I think it would probably look really bad with black or gunmetal wheels though.

Given that those hi-po models aren't outright labeled "limited", I'm sure you'd eventually have an easier time finding one for sticker.

To piggyback my first post: I'm not dissing someone's choice to buy an LE. I just don't see where the value comes from when the differences are strictly aesthetic. The eventual hi-po models will essentially be more exclusive to the layman given the differences in street metal alone, not even taking into account powertrain/drivetrain upgrades.

All you people need to realize that not everyone has the same goals or taste as you (not you specifically but people knocking the LE or any other model for that matter).

Some people could give a single s**t about performance enhancements or paying 50k plus for a stripped down model when they can get an LE, trow a couple bucks at it and have performance and comfort (that is just one example of a valid reason to choose it).

Yes I have an LE ordered (no markup). Why? Cause I want one and I want it loaded and truthfully it's not a lot more than a loaded gt. Other people have different reasons. And if I want a gt350 or whatever they call it later, then I'll sell my LE (big maybe at a profit) and buy one. But I'll be damned if I'm going to be critical of someone else choice of model or how much they decide they want to pay for it.

Like a damned high school drama with you people about this. Almost like it's jealousy.
