traction control only controls rear wheel spin.

TCS comes into play when the car has a yaw change on it's center access (spin / fish tail / oversteer)

so if you spin the rear tires, traction control pulls engine power and applies rear brakes to stop the spin.

If you start to spin out, advance trac does the same, but will also apply front brake or brakes in order to force the car back into a straight line.

Basically AdvanceTrac does more stuff to keep you on the road.

"monitors vehicle speed, throttle position, steering angle and side-to-side skidding and will reduce engine power and apply brakes individually as needed to maintain control.

Traction control reduces power and applies the rear brakes when the rear wheels lose traction."

So AdvanceTrac is probably most useful on the track or drag strip then?

yes on race track / road course. will stop you from killing yourself or spinning your car out into the guard rail. BUT, it will cost you lap times. Only turn off the nannies at the road course if you are an expert and know what you are doing.

at the 1/4 mile. turn em both off.

In track mode just the traction control is off? Advance trac remains on?

Yes, you have to hold the traction control switch for like 10 seconds to turn advancetrac off.

To turn it off, hold the toggle up for 5 seconds and the dash indicator will light up when it's off.

Yes, just has different programming than in other modes. Advance Track is primarily for the road, to help people stay in control - its stability control essentially.

Not my fault you don't understand how the system works.

If you are turning left, and the car is oversteering. The cars works out which brake needs to be applied to help steer the car back to center. In this case, slowing the right front wheel, will cause the car to slow the oversteer, and being to correct the yaw back to center.

Please take some time to educate yourself

So no more stupid wipeouts at MB Mustang week show?
Don't bet the ranch on it.

No matter how good the nannies get, there will always be at least a few morons whose driving they can't always correct for.
