Just a thought :I love the louvered glass but with so few cars being built, I bet if you had to replace that window it would be crazy expensive.
i am sure the aftermarket will take care of that.

I love when people say this... The OEM glass is $1000 PER side. It took Ford tons of R/D to make them. Then you have to remember you have to remove the factory glass...parts and labor you can expect probably over $3000 and you will always have to worry about leaks. Then you'll be "that guy" trying to pass it off as a LE.

No aftermarket is going to dump the money in trying to figure out how to bond the glass together. They will stick with the cheap and easy 3M stick on louvers.

All you people need to realize that not everyone has the same goals or taste as you (not you specifically but people knocking the LE or any other model for that matter).

Some people could give a single s**t about performance enhancements or paying 50k plus for a stripped down model when they can get an LE, trow a couple bucks at it and have performance and comfort (that is just one example of a valid reason to choose it).

Yes I have an LE ordered (no markup). Why? Cause I want one and I want it loaded and truthfully it's not a lot more than a loaded gt. Other people have different reasons. And if I want a gt350 or whatever they call it later, then I'll sell my LE (big maybe at a profit) and buy one. But I'll be damned if I'm going to be critical of someone else choice of model or how much they decide they want to pay for it.

Like a damned high school drama with you people about this. Almost like it's jealousy.
You're overreacting. Apparently I struck a chord with that post. Zero "high school drama" here except for you coming in guns hot. Nobody's dissing your preferences; I wrote that verbatim, so lighten up.

sure,

not thinking people will want to try to pass anything off as a le. if people like the look and they do, the aftermarket will likely take a shot at it.. it will not be done the same way ford did it but it will look close to the same..

good example, you know you can buy a functioning shaker hood scoop to add to a 2010+ mustang i think. the engineering on that was not a simple task.

not my cup of tea, but someone will do it..

Well I will disagree. It's too costly for the aftermarket to try and produce.

That is insane. I don't see why anyone would want an LE at that kind of markup. An eventual BOSS/GT350 addition will probably come in close to that. I would guess maybe 7-10k over a loaded GT. The LE is all fluff stuff.
I love hearing this voice of reason! For some reason there's a lot of touchy people on the subject of the LE! I like the LE and I'm looking to get one but, 5-10k is such a huge ripoff. If we the car buyers banded together and told all the dealers who are gouging to F off, then this situation would be different.

Don't lump us all together like that.

People inject emotion into text which is really sad.

I'm sorry I see someone come in saying "PEOPLE BUYING THE LE ARE DUMB HAHAHA LOSERS PAYING TO MUCH FOR NOTHING" I then type out a counter and some people have thin skin. I'm not defending my decision.

Enough guys. This thread is not about questioning any one person's financial choices - that is a debate that is not going to go anywhere. Time to agree to disagree and move on.

Given that those hi-po models aren't outright labeled "limited", I'm sure you'd eventually have an easier time finding one for sticker.

To piggyback my first post: I'm not dissing someone's choice to buy an LE. I just don't see where the value comes from when the differences are strictly aesthetic. The eventual hi-po models will essentially be more exclusive to the layman given the differences in street metal alone, not even taking into account powertrain/drivetrain upgrades.

How do you think the hi-po models are going to be more exclusive than the LE? Not knowing what the other models are going to be or how many they will produce. Is the Boss 302 which they made 3,250 each year going to be more exclusive than the 1,964 LE? They could be more sought after by some people but I don't think they will be more exclusive. Now in my opinion the Laguna seca will be more exclusive.

I was specific to write "more exclusive to the layman," meaning that your typical Joe-Schmoe won't be able to distinguish an LE model from any of the vanilla models, especially once you throw the readily available LE appearance package on any EB or GT. Compare that to the upcoming hi-po models which will look and sound different. They might not literally be more exclusive, but they will definitely appear more rare to the public eye.

I just want to recap my earlier post which seems to have irked some people. I'm not attacking anyone's choices here... buy whatever the hell floats your boat and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest. My initial comment specifically brings up my inability to relate to someone that would want to pay a hefty markup for something like the LE when... well, I basically just laid out my points in the above paragraph.

In all fairness Joe Schmoe can't tell the difference between a Boss302 and a V6. When I had my 2011 V6 my partner at work came in and said

"I saw your car in blue on my way in it had some stickers running down the side"

I then asked him if it said Boss anywhere on it and he said

"yeah but it was a Mustang...what's a boss?"

To most people they are all one in the same. It's like me with BMW. I couldn't tell you a 125i to 335xi to 752i? I just don't follow BMW so I don't know.
