In that sort of temp do you wash then dry the car as you go? I find that on hot days the car air-dries faster than I can get around and wash, then dry.

I have a pretty swift routine with washing my "clean dirty" cars, so I move quickly around the car before things dry and then move into the garage to dry.

Quite often, if I wash early enough in the day, I actually end up with the front half of the car in shade and the back half in the sun. Therefore, I start at the front and work my way back, limiting the time soap is on the paint in the sunlight before the final rinse.

Although I don't often do this, but I also have the luxury of washing cars inside the garage if needed.

I thoroughly enjoyed the huge job this was, my poor knees didn't though, they protested for a week after the install.

Working with my head down bum up all day, the moment when I finally stood back and looked at the transformation was somewhat overwhelming.

The transformation was all about the visual impact, but it also had practical benefits too including ease of cleaning and safer detailing due to the lack of standing water.

Would I do it again? Absolutely yes!

DFB, What a great job you did! I have a couple of questions, perdon my ignorance. As I do see that the floor looks very flat ( no curve for draining) and I do not see any drain pit in the center of the garage, where does the water go ? It dries stock between the tiles ?

There is a drain under the floor towards the front. For any water that falls through the tiles, it drains away via the channels molded in the bottom of the tiles or simply evaporates away.

Even hotter today, 40 deg C / 104 deg F is well above my comfort threshold. I don't wash in the garage often, but it's certainly a useful option to have on a day like this.

Tyres scrubbed with P&S Undressed, wheels washed with Adam's Car Shampoo and then topped with Gyeon Wet Coat.

Adam's Car Shampoo was also used on the paint. I love how thickly this soap foams, it smells nice and offers great slickness. I have also noticed that it's one of the better soaps when washing in direct sunlight.

The key thing to consider when washing indoors is to be careful of your angles with the pressure washer, in both rinsing and foaming.

Drying aid today was NV Boost v2.

Glass was attended to with Gyeon Glass, interior wiped down with ONR, engine bay wiped over with Paint Gloss. I dressed the tyres with OG Tire Dressing, this product works really well on Dunlop Sport Maxx.

Back to spec and ready to be covered up again.

This is the iK MULTI Pro 2 sprayer and not the more popular iK FOAM Pro 2 foamer. I will be using this for applying pre-soak rinse-less products, the foaming version is useless for me as I just use a foam cannon.

Boxing Day order number two, this one from Car Care Products...........

I have been eyeing Nextzett Cockpit Premium for a while now, I forgot about it for a while after discovering how brilliant P&S Express was. What I like about both Express and the Cockpit is that it doesn't make the interior shiny. And yes, it does have a slight "urinal cake" scent to it, not as bad as you would think though and somewhat similar to all the other lemon scented interior cleaners on the market. (Side note, why does it seem all interior cleaners/detailers are lemon scented?)

Now that Meguiar's M39 has been discontinued, I'm on the lookout for a product that can replace it. M39 was a pretty obscure product, one that was typically bought by the body shop industry, but it had an amazing ability to deep clean unpainted black plastic parts. Think door handles, grills, exterior trims ect.

I noticed that Nextzett make a product called Plastikreinigner (Plastic Deep Cleaner) which may just be the replacement for M39.

Gyeon Q2M Ceramic Detailer is another take on a lite spray sealant detailer/drying aid. I have heard conflicting stories about this product, some love it, some say it's terrible. I guess I will find out soon enough.

The black Mint applicators are just super useful to have around, I use these for applying tyre dressing, even though they were primarily designed for wax and sealant application.

Meguiar's M39 had a very specific use case for me, able to remove stuff from unpainted plastics like no APC could. It can also remove polish residue from rubber trims. M39 is not a product I use very often, but it's got me out of trouble enough times that it had earned a place in my cabinet.

These are the sort of plastics I'm talking about......................

I often use Brake Buster for wheel arch cleaning, but I wouldn't be comfortable using it on the above parts. I probably would suggest using the Bowden's Paint Cleanser on unpainted trims.

I would like to say it wouldn't, but it is pretty harsh when undiluted, it will actually eat into plastic sprayers over time.

My old man had to have a tyre replaced on his Ranger yesterday. Of course, they just had to apply that horrible silicone dressing to all the tires afterwards........................

I wonder how many passes with a heavy-duty tire cleaner I'm going to need to remove that stuff from the tyres, wheels and wheel arches.

At least Elixir won't need a sledgehammer chemical to remove it when I want to try something else.

If you look closely, that horrible stuff has slung all over the wheel arches and there was even some on the side steps.

I can guess why they use this stuff; it will come in a huge drum and would be supplied by a chemical rep for cheap. With the huge choice in tire dressings now, there is no excuse for using something like this, water-based dressings are easier to apply, don't sling and can also be supplied in large quantities.
