Here's an additional thought. Have you considered the regular Fusion Ti? How long will you own the Fusion? Do a quick calculation on how long the extra cost of the hybrid will take to pay off and start "saving" money on gas. And if you know anything about hybrids, the more you whip them the worse the mileage gets in a greater percentage than in a gas only car. In other words, its easier NOT to get close to the advertised MPG in a hybrid.
For that matter, try a Focus Ti,(MSRP $26K loaded, 37mpg hwy) even lower cost of ownership and maybe its features all loaded up will suit your needs.
I was looking at the regular, they are about 3k less, and get 10mpgs less (advertised), and I will be driving it a minimum of 300 miles weekly. I will keep it as a daily driver (not trading it in for the gt500 if I get a fusion)

As far I do understand that right:
You are in the loop because you got a brand new job/ counting on money you "maybe" have to spend/ sitting on a tight budget and can't spend to much money on gas?

I am sure everyone understand what I am saying right now. Get a Fusion or EcoBoost Fiesta if it gets to the US market. Spending money you do not have is a disaster plan.
I personally never spend money I did not have. So waiting until you know for sure what's going on with earnings isn't a bad thing to do IMO.

Yeah papaya to a degree that's about right, I recently switched jobs that as of right now pays less than my previous job (gotta take 1 step down to move 5 steps up) so my finances switched. That's why I might switch my setup... originally it was going to be getting the GT PP and then later on getting the DD, might have to switch that now.

It's official! I'm never leaving Florida. You guys can keep your "winter cars" :p
I hear ya. But still, nothing like taking the Cayenne (manual) out for a drive through 2 feet of fresh snow.

I am a bit older I think, but somehow in the same boat. Had an work related accident in January and WCB is paying me now (mostly) until I retire. So switching your situation around, I do know exactly what I am earning every year from now on. Reduced to 20 hours a week working time plus WCB let my wife and me now planing what we can do much more easier than before. And I am looking it at that way now: Always family cars and minivans are now history for me. We did look at Journey's and Dodge Caravan but giving away my "baby" (Mustang convertible V6 2005 because it was with M/T), I did like a new 2015 Mustang. One time I like a car nobody is telling me to buy. So coming from the "family life" - I did not get crazy right away. I ordered a EcoBeast Mustang PP.

BTW: The EcoBoost Fiesta is around $17,000 and available in the USA. http://www.ford.com/cars/fiesta/?gnav=header-cars

It is your call of course, but I think looking slightly used (even 1yo) will save you much more $$ and you will get the same or approx. the same quality to use as a DD. Understand your situation now, and I would do the same thing if I were to reduce my income temporarily. I think that is responsible, I think you have probably received all the feedback you can handle. My take would be Focus unless you have more family needs, then get the Mustang when you are able to. But again your tastes may be different (our Fusion is for carrying my family around, so we wanted/needed the extra room in the back seat for the growing legs of our boys :))

It is part of my plan to wait for the gt350 so I certainly can't tell you not to wait for a better mustang. That said, I (and only I) would buy a cheaper reliable economy car for the year of so wait. Pay for it cash, or pay it off inside of a year and get the Special Edition when it's on the market.

Whatever you decide to do, will be the right thing. Good Luck and remember that in the moderately near future you'll have an awesome mustang.

Buy a cheap car that will be worth the same money when you sell it in 6 months. You'll be kicking yourself when you see the Mustangs rolling around. Wait it out. The Fusion's are nice but they ain't no S550! I can assure you of that.
Great strategy. My son has a Dodge RAM truck that gets dismal mileage. He bought a '98 Civic EX for $2K, drove it for six months, banked the savings in gas money, sold the Civic for $2,300, and paid a LOT of wedding bills! You can do the same. I recommend an old Honda or Toyota.

Living in Vermont my 15' Ruby red PP 6 speed GT Premium will be sitting in storage when I get it ( job 2) not sure when that will be I'm guessing snow will be on the ground. But for now my 04' F-150 Heritage will be my ride I love having the versatility of a pick up and will always have that along with my wife's 13' Subaru outback.

^^^That...I vote that too.

However, waiting for the GT350 or GT500 is not a bad way to go too.

It's not for family needs, but... try finding a focus with heated and cooled leather seats in Florida, next to impossible, the fusion does also have more leg rooms as I'm usually the one that drives everywhere on road trips so the leg room would be nice

would like to thank you guys for all your input. I test drove a fusion titanium hybrid last night, amazing car, so I think I'm going to go with that, get 2.5 times my old gas mileage and in a year or so when my financial situation get's to where it should be. Pick up the gt350
