Would this be your family's only car? Having had a 2 door coupe with a small child ('89 Probe GT - turbo I4), I can say from experience that I think buying a 2 door coupe with a baby on the way is not a great idea.

If it's just going to be your car get whatever fits the budget. I know that by the time my 2nd son was born the Probe (it was a great car and I loved it to death) was history and I drove an Escort wagon for a decade. Gotta do what ya gotta do for your family. GL!

"And she already has a 2012 GMC terrain. Even now whenever we go out and run errands we take the terrain, so that angle is already covered and the mustang upgrade has already been approved by her..."

It really depends on your job and job security. I had a 1966 Chevelle restoration project when we first got pregnant. I got laid off a month before our oldest daughter was born. After I finally got it sold and life moved on, I started a v8 swap in a Mustang and yep...you guessed it, second baby. So make sure you're financially secure enough for a toy. Find something you can pay cash for or have paid off before October, and keep the mod bug at bay. Muscle cars are notorious instigators of the mod bug.

Get you something fun like a turbo diesel wagon...torque, family room, and great fuel mileage.

I'm a spec ops weapons specialist (train troops on the weapons systems they will be utilizing downrange, marksmanship, field strip, maintenance etc.) so as long as there's terrorists i get to keep my job lol. And the wife is military police....soooo...ditto for her lol my mustang now is my current toy, this will just be an upgrade, and I've put about 4K of mods into it so I know all about the damn mod bug
