As far as the sales tax issues goes, check with the dealer to see if a trade-in implies that you only pay sales tax on the difference between the two vehicles. IOW, you probably would not pay any tax. (And make sure your turned-in car is truly considered your "trade-in".)

However, if opting for the buyout I suspect you would flush all the sales tax that you paid on the lemon'ed car.

I was 23 when I purchased my Shelby. But I bought a house first.

If I would have bought the Shelby first they would have had me pay off the Shelby before giving me a loan.

Now I'm 24 and I'm glad I did it this way.
Correct! We had to pay off both my F250 and my wife's Land Rover just to do a refinance on our house and we make over 6 figures... They want you to have basically no debt these days when buying a house because everyone got screwed years back. They changed a lot of the rules last Oct and made it much more difficult to purchase or refi a house :frusty:

Just remember that a house is an investment. Not even a GT350 would be considered an investment but yet an unnecessary debt that they will want gone. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a nice house with a sweet garage and then get your toy.

Eff the problem riddled GT350....wait and get a Mach 1 or buy a Z28 or even a 1LE. I for one am almost done with Ford.

OR, buy a Condo in Scottsdale, AZ and rent it out until it doubles in price....

Buy a house. You can get a GT350 next year if and when finances allow.
Delayed gratification....and patience...something that is greatly
missing in today's world. Everyone wants everything now.

I sacrificed everything to get my first house, within 2 years the housing market in
1991, was collapsing and by 1996 I was sitting in a house worth about $100K
and owed $140K, though I was the biggest fool, and came close to dumping it on
the bank. But held in there and bought my neighbors house in 98 at the bottom
for a song, and rented out the first house, I really thought I had gone bonkers then !

Long story made short, I bought many more rental houses since then, rode
the ups and downs, had my tenants pay for my rental houses, and dumped
as much as I could in my retirement accounts as I could.

Buy a house, max out the retirement accounts, and the toys will come later....
Yep, get that paper son! The girls and toys will always be there.

I'll be right behind you if I have any issues with this GT350. I'll let them fix it, unload it then trade in my F250 on a Sierra Denali Diesel and maybe keep the Raptor but that's a maybe... We ordered a Yukon Denali for my wife 6 weeks ago and just drove it home today  They told me 6-8 weeks for the GT350 knowing good and well it would be much longer than that. '17 Vette Grand Sport 8 weeks from order to delivery... GM puts customer orders ahead of any dealer stock as soon as they pull the order. Luckily I like the GT350 enough to wait for it :headbang: I just hope it doesn't blow up within 1000 miles on me

Buy the house first, before they become totally out of reach. After the move in and the fallout settles, step back and look at your finances. You may still be able to get one, but you'll have a house (and a mortgage) and you'll be way ahead of the game. With this option, you will have no regrets, long term. If you sink a wad into another GT350, no guarantees, as you have already seen.

Homes are way up there and a lot of people think it's going to take a hit sooner than later. You always have the option to do nothing. The money you save on a house after a potential bubble burst could almost pay for your Shelby (depending..I know). Just a thought!

Bank the money, buy ones of these. And put the rest towards a house.
I love my 2016 Norton Commando 961 SF. It's hard to choose between my bike and my GT350.
It's rare, grabs a ton of attention, handles great! All hand made and assembled, made in England and all top quality components.
The mustang will keep getting better.

I checked those out recently - nice looking but a little too fancy for me. I like the slightly harder-edged Triumph Thruxton R.

I like those also.
My next one will either be a Norton Dominator

or Norton MM. (Red track racer)
I ordered the dominators exhaust hand made aluminum tank for my commando. Should be here soon from England. All the drivetrain and engine are the same on all the nortons except the new v4.
The dominator exhaust will make my bike sound like this.
