Seems like a negative way to look at things. There will always be something newer and better. Same thing will happen when you get the 18. The 2020 version will be better. Enjoy what you have now!

That's pretty good way of looking at it. Good advice. This thread has definitely pushed me towards going ahead with getting an exhaust. I only thought I'd get two or three responses, thanks for all the replies!

If you want some sound you gotta ditch that stock resonator for an H or X pipe at the very least. I actually got my full catback system used on craigslist. Guy put maybe 1000 miles on it then switched back to stock and traded for a camaro. 400 bucks later I got a basically new exhaust.

Do you already have some ideas on which exhaust you'd like? What kind of sound are you looking for?

If you put a cat back or an axle back on, you might find you like the car more and want to do more modding and keep it. I'm QUITE sure Lethal or the other vendors on here would LOOOOOOVE to help you out with some mods. :amen:

Change out the exhaust hands down. The stock exhaust is a joke.
You got that right. I did a X pipe and Flowmaster 40's and no drone and no raspy sound.

I've been watching videos. My ideal exhaust is very deep sounding. Not too raspy. Definitely louder than stock, but can't tick off the neighborhood.

I would recommend magnaflow if deep is what you're after. Borla is pretty deep sounding too.

Sent you a PM last night, where in TN are you? I have the Magnaflow Competition Axleback and it sounds like what you are after. If your in the Middle TN area Ide be happy to meet up somewhere and let you get a listen and see for yourself.

I would just add an exhaust and if you wind up getting an 18, return your current car to stock and sell the aftermarket setup. You will get part of your cost back and can use that to mod the new car. I'm doing the same exact thing....my minor list of "mods" are all reversible. I'm keeping an eye on the new 1LE and what the 18 mustang is going to have (ie power bump, etc) as i will most likely upgrade next year as long as it makes financial sense.

Thanks for the recommendations, guys!

The Competition system is a little more aggressive, but if you were looking for something with a great tone, and just a little louder than stock, our Street catback would be the way to go! If we can answer any questions about either system, please let us know!
