What would you do?

OK so lets say you just had a bit of fortune and ran in to some cash, as well as a 15% wage increase, and you were faced with two choices. Either upgrade the 2015 GT with a Whipple, Hellion Twin Turbo or some other upgrade, or, buy project car?

My first question is if I go with the upgrades to my 2015 GT I don't care to make it some street monster. Don't need it. I'm simply looking to upgrade to be on par to meet the needs should they arise. Such as a 2016 Camaro SS2 or a Hellcat. I don't want to have to upgrade all my drive train but just looking for a simple street treat.

Sencond, the project car. I've got a chance to buy a 1969 Olds 442 factory 4 spd Sport for $9,000. I'm not much of an olds fan but the 442's are bring some pretty good return. Here are some pictures of the 442. Original drive train.

better it looks like it has a BBC engine with a cheap 600 carb(junk) and a twisted Edelbrock prehistoric intake

OK looks like the Whipple wins out. Am I going to need to change out my drive line, rear end trany or anything else major, or can I just get the complete Whipple kit and be good? Any suggestions before I go this route?

9k is a bit steep for the 442s condition I'd say. If it were a 4 spd W-30 hell yes! But it's not gonna bring much more than what you have to put into it unless you know somebody in the industry. That + your lack of interest makes it a no go. Gotta have passion to see it through regardless. Better off spending the $$$ on something you want.

You'll never get your $$ back out of either adventure. The 442 will be just another nice older car since there doesn't appear to be anything particularly collectable about it (not a W-30, unmolested original etc.).

A project car is just that - an ongoing project that will always be in need of something else. It's a great experience if you have the time, money & skills to put into it.

Or you can drop a blower in the 'stang + mods to keep the tires planted & go have fun ............
