They all do.........it replaced the "nipple" earlier this year. So, every new S550 no matter what spec, get the shark fin now.
Oh my God why?? About 5 years ago when I had a Mercedes they were all excited to ditch the shark fin and get the rounded ones. Ford had the rounded ones and is now going to the shark fin? This necessary but ugly design needed to die not be revived. :(

My 2020 was built in Aug/Sept of 19 and does not have the shark fin.
Because God wanted it. I'm sorry but why is this such a big deal? Ford needed to do it for improved sat radio performance. It was not for cosmetic reasons. And what difference does it make what Mercedes did five years? What radios were they using back then? What do they use now?

There is a reason your 2020 doesn't have the shark fin. You can rest easy now. :whew:

Makes me glad I bought a 19 for dealer stock. I was about to order a '20 coup, and I would NOT have been happy with this lameness.

Why would they go into detail on making a change they are telling you not to make? sounds counterproductive.
Simply mentioning what would be adversely affected would be better than "because we said so".

Sometimes you just need to deal with change and leave things alone. Wouldn't it be great if you could change everything you do not like?
The whole point of aftermarket and DIY modifications is to change things that you don't like. Why should this be any different, as long as you'd be willing to lose certain functions?

Because there is no other accessory that wrecks the lines of a car as much as a shark fin does. Whatever great shape the designers penned is forever wrecked by satellite radio that many of us don't even renew.

Damn... I picked up my 20 at just the right time. Build date was Oct 29th 2019, so I squeaked in under the PP1 package price increase and that horrible looking antenna.

Not cool, you can't go from the fin to the dome.

If the others are correct, and I certainly respect their opinions, the aftermarket will hopefully respond. If they can’t or won’t then owners will need to live with it.

If the shark fin wasnt retardedly angular and more organic looking it would be fine. I wonder if an aftermarket vendor will design some type of better looking fin that could go over it?

Making it bigger by putting something over it isn't going to solve the problem.

it needs tassels. Maybe a pin wheel. I gotta wonder why not just make it a triangle and lay it flat instead of standing it on end?

It should be altered to provide double duty as a deer whistle. Those things work. I mean, have you ever hit a deer with one of those stuck to your car?
