This is my 3rd or 2nd post, I've been on here since June when I purchased my first ever mustang. I went with a guard v6 and I've regretted it ever since. I skipped the GT because my price range would've landed me in a base GT w/ manual transmission (I would've regretted that too). I'm high maintenance and need features and power. I've been looking to get out of my v6 for almost a year now (does buyers remorse usually last that long? If it does, well, you bought the wrong thing my friend).

Anyway, here's my situation: I have the opportunity for a 2016 GT Premium retailing at 41,600. It's my uncles car; he bought it in September 2015. It went straight from the trailer of the delivery truck to his garage. It has 113 total miles and still has the plastic wrapping everything on the interior. He's added an aftermarket exhaust and a few other things. He's selling it to me for payoff which is 33k. I'd have to borrow a little extra to pay down my car so I'd be able to sell it at reasonable price. I'd be looking at total 37-38 and that would include my negative equity and TTL. I'm anxious, and I don't like change. Is this an opportunity I shouldn't pass up??????

The guy GIVING you his car must be retarded...... The money better hit his bank before he changes his mind!:D.

It took nearly 3 weeks of going dealer to dealer but just signed the paperwork and waiting on parts to arrive to take delivery.

2016 Ecoboost Base w/PP AND Roush stage 2 power pack (ECU flash, CAI, and exhaust)

$29682
Interesting, I didn't know you could order the power packs from the dealer and include them in your loan.

Let us know how it drives. I'm 90% getting another V8, but those Roush ecos do look sweet and found a few on sale in the gt premium price range. Only downsides are the sound, worry of motor failure and the extra cost of some extra mods and power pack to get it near gt levels.

Love to get some feedback on this. I feel like people aren't getting as good of a deal on the higher specc'd cars vs. the base cars. Or am I just telling myself that?

2017 GT Premium
MT
401a
Performance Pack
Premiere Trim

MSRP - $42,230 with destination
I paid - $40,000

Added the Roush Phase 1, Roush 36 month warranty, Roush Axle back, and Ford Racing X-Pipe for $10,080.

So it sounds like you were around $50k plus tax, title, fees, etc?

I was at 29k for my base 16 GT. It ended up being right around $32k OTD. So I was about $2-3k off retail or whatever you want to call it. It's just the base price starts way lower than the premiums.

I added leather takeoffs, borla ATAKs and H pipe, MMD 20x10 holgens w/ Nitto NT555 G2, Steeda suspension parts, and Rockford complete sound system with subs, Amps, speakers, etc for about another $3k.

It all depends on what you want to in your car. I'd rather do it a lot it myself and keep my loan and payments down than to drop $40k at once.

thanks dude. I was more talking about how I did on price. ;-)
Sounds about right. I was quoted 41k, on a 43.4k MSRP on a loaded 2017 GT Premium with everything minus adaptive cruise. Same car in 2016 form can be had for 36-37k.

It's a matter of finding out if the dealer is willing to discount the car when it arrives or not. A lot of the early orders I would think it's hard to budge past invoice pricing or X-Plan unless you find a dealer that really wants to get you in a Mustang at a great price.
