You want to vent the pressure that gets past your rings especially on a supercharged engine. It's not just about keeping oil out of the intake tract.
PCV valve ( positive crankcase ventilation) does that without a catch can . With a catch can you need to make sure the can is well maintained as a blocked can can pressurize crankcase on some engines . All this catch can talk got me ordering one today

Mags1- where did you get those fenders?
That’s a GTD in my profile pic. Just wishful thinking on my part LOL. I believe someone has come out with aftermarket GTD style fenders, will see if I can find the link.

Unless the factory PCV has a check valve, then it only opens under vacuum and not boost.

So I'm about to put my car down for the winter again and I'll be doing some more work to the engine. Right now it's Whipple Supercharged with several supporting mods. It makes 768WH and I'm looking at adding a good catch can. What ones work best for supercharged cars?
What year 5.0L?
On my '20 I installed the UPR specific setup for a Whipple and the fit/finish was OEM-like.

If you have a 15-17, there is a UPR option as well:

Another option is the J&L passenger with the remote mount:

I would absolutely use this one as well.
Let us know if we can assist.

Full custom install using an Improved Racing can. Not very well known company in the Coyote community, but their stuff is top shelf. Best design can I’ve event came across. Yes, my install is way over engineered and expensive, but it was a blast of a project. They have a coyote bolt in kit now. Didnt have it when I did mine, but doesn’t fit the 350 anyways. I was able to help them develop that mounting bracket and hopefully solve some future 350 options.

So I'm thinking about going catch can on my '16 GT. However, I recently installed the aluminum GT500 cam covers so it looks like I can now install the FP M6766A52 oil separator for the GT500. Those things are going for between $480-$590 depending on where you buy it. Is it really worth 3x the cost of a JLT, UPR or even the "regular" FP separators?

It also appears to be a more involved installation and servicing my spark plugs or valve covers the next time will be a bigger hassle.

If you can use the UPR system I would go with that. I did the one with short tubes and I didn't even use a mounting brkt.
